All Elden Ring Bosses (and Best Main Boss Order)

Bosses are powerful enemies that add another layer of challenge to the game. Here is a complete guide to all enemy bosses in the Ring of Elden.

Unfortunately, getting the Great Rune from a demigod is only part of its activation. Those wishing to activate each great rune must discover the corresponding divine towers sprinkled across the lands between. Some of them are much easier to find than others, and one, in particular, has the activation location of the Great Rune for two demigods; Morgott and Mohg. Here's how players can get to the location and activate the powerful runes for these bosses after defeating them in Fire Ring.

Updated October 28, 2024 by Erik Petrovich: When it comes to how to activate the Morgott and Mohg Great Runes, Elden Ring players are in luck: it's actually the same place. What's not quite so easy is making sure to go to the right boss location to get both Mohg and Morgott's Great Runes. These two Omen brothers have multiple locations throughout the game, but only one of their fights actually gives each boss a large rune when defeated. This guide has been updated with some more detailed information on how to get to Mohg and Morgott's locations in the Ring of Fire, as well as some details on the Divine Tower in East Altus and the effects of each rune.

Where to find Morgott and Mohg in the Ring of Fire

Morgott & Mohg Locations

Mohg Morgott

The first step in activating the runes for these two demigods is to unlock them by defeating the bosses themselves. This is easier said than done as Morgott and Mohg are both quite powerful and incredibly difficult for some players.

Although you can fight Morgott and Mohg in various forms in several areas of the game, their “real” fights take place at the end of long old dungeon zones. Here you will find the real locations of Morgott and Mohg Fire Ring.

Morgott, The Omen King Location

Fire Ring Morgott Mode

There are three different versions of Morgott i Fire Ring: one can be found at the entrance to Stormveil Castle, one is located in the outer wall of Leyndell, and one is found at the foot of the Erdtree, at the end of Leyndell itself.

The first two are actually projections of Morgott (going under the guise of Margit the Fell), and do not release his great rune. The real Morgott the Omen King can only be found at the end of Leyndell, the Royal Capital's legacy dungeon.

The Ring of Fire: General Radahn RPG Building Guide

General Radahn is one of Elden Ring's fan-favorite bosses, and roleplaying as Starscourge is just a matter of acquiring armor and distributing stats.

It is quite a long and dangerous journey to cross the difficult Leyndell, royal capital after players have entered the city walls. Once you get to the West Capital Rampart Site of Grace, exit a door to the southwest and jump down to the right, into an old horse stable.

From there, they can climb up the massive Erdtree root in front of them and wind their way along its path until they come to a balcony and a waiting boss door. Here, players will have to face the ghost of the First Elden Lord, Godfrey. After defeating the boss, they can move up to the Queen's Bedchamber Site of Grace and then up the long stairs from there to meet Morgott, The Omen King.

Mohg, Lord of Blood Location

Fire Ring Mohg Mode

There are two different Mohgs i Fire Ring: one can be found below Leyndell, in the Shunning Grounds that block a secret entrance to the Deeproot Depths, and one can be found atop the Mohgwyn Palace, an endgame area dedicated to the Formless Mother and the Mohgwyn Dynasty. The Shunning Grounds version of Mohg is actually a Shade, while the real version – the one that drops Mohg's Great Rune – is found in Mohgwyn Palace.

Getting to Mohg is a bit more involved than getting to Morgott as players will need to enter and make their way through the Mohgwyn Palace, which is a notoriously punishing zone that is relatively hidden. Players can either advance in the White-Faced Varre's quest and use the Pureblood Knight's Medal to instantly teleport there, or use a Waygate in the Consecrated Snowfield, located northwest of the Yelough Anix Ruins.

Once players make it to the Mohgwyn Palace, they will want to head upwards until they find the Dynasty Mausoleum Midpoint Site Of Grace. From there it's a short trip up the stairs and to the right to ride a large elevator up to where Mohg's boss room is.

How to activate the Great Runes of Morgott and Mohg in the Ring of Fire

The Divine Tower of East Altus Location

The Fire Ring To The Divine Tower

Morgott and Mohg, who are brothers born of Omen blood, have great runes that can both be activated in the same place: the Divine Tower of East Altus.

When players have both Morgott's and Mohg's Great Runes, go to Leyndell, the Royal Capital, and proceed until you find the lift leading to the Forbidden Lands (towards the Grand Lift of Rold). If players ride this elevator up and look to the right instead of going out the door and into the snowy zone, they will notice a large bridge stretching towards a massive tower.

Players must be careful when crossing the bridge towards the tower as they will be trapped in a dark arena by the twin bosses, the Fell Twins. The arena for this boss fight is reminiscent of the Four Kings fight from Dark soulswhich is an inky black void where you can only see your enemies and nothing else, but the combat isn't very tough.

Elden Ring: 10 tips for a sleep recovery

Players looking to tackle a Sleep build in the Ring of Fire should follow these tips.

Once defeated, players can enter the Divine Tower in East Altus and use the elevator to reach the top. There they find the Great Rune activation locations for both Morgott's and Mohg's Great Runes side by side.

What do the great runes of Mohg and Morgott do?

Once players activate these runes, they can sit at any Site of Grace and choose to equip them, where they will become active when players use a Rune Arc.

  • Use of Mohg's Great Rune will apply Blessing of Blood to any of the player's summoned Spirit Ashes. This boon causes them to take a damage cooldown whenever Bloodloss is inflicted on a nearby enemy and any enemies they kill near the player will heal the player for 10 percent of their maximum health.

  • Morgott's Great Rune is a bit more straightforward. It will significantly improve a player's health, with a multiplier of 25 percent. What's even better is that this effect can even occur after players have used buffs and talismans to gain additional health, making the effect even stronger.
