As part of the Winter 2024 update, the MA5K Avenger, which featured in the best-selling Halo novel adaptation is called Halo: Ghosts of Onyxcomes in Halo infinite on 5 November. It is described as a fully automatic rifle with a high rate of fire, increased magazine size and fast reload speeds. In addition, the gun is suitable for engaging in close combat. Starting with the Operation: Great Journey content release, the MA5K Avenger will be available across SMG-rated weapon racks in the game. It will also be the first weapon in the upcoming Delta Arena roster and the second weapon in some instances of the Firefight mode. Amusingly, the announcement post for the update includes an image that nods to the cover of the 2006 novel and features Spartan III soldiers brandishing the MA5K Avenger.

After a period of speculation, the MA5K Avenger has been revealed as one of the prominent attractions in the upcoming content update. Besides this new rifle, there are plenty of other things that fans can be excited about. A number of other weapons and equipment, namely the VK78 Commando, MK50 Sidekick, Active Camo and Thruster are also slated to receive tweaks to balance out the player experience.
