YouTuber Fast Launch from Rockstar Games

YouTuber Ubergaming received a lot of attention for a recent stunt that saw him and others suddenly enter Rockstar North, which is where Grand Theft Auto 6 it is being worked on. It wasn't just a coincidence, as the content creator intended to “celebrate the day” GTA 6 was meant to let go by going in, and purposefully chose to stay at the Edinburgh Marriott Hotel Holyrood, which is across the street from Rockstar North. The YouTuber has shared some footage of him and his friends marching into the lobby of Rockstar North, but explained that it “only took seconds” before they were kicked out. However, it wasn't over for the content creator yet, as the police then got involved.

According to the Ubergaming channel, the police arrived after they left the lobby. The police apparently took down the information from the Ubergaming crew and when asked why they wanted the information, the police explained that if anything from GTA 6 leaked going forward, the authorities would be in contact with Ubergaming. Although it appears that the content creators did nothing substantial after entering the front door, they are viewed with suspicion for this stunt.

It's not a surprise that Rockstar North called the authorities, nor that it's very protective of its intellectual property. GTA 6 has experienced multiple leaks at this point, including one that was addressed by a hacker who gained access via a developer Slack account and proceeded to dump early GTA 6 development videos on the internet. In another case, Rockstar employees were harassed on the street on their way to work by another content creator, demanding to know about the third trailer for the game. Tensions are probably already high at the studio as it nears the game's finish line, but incidents like these call into question the safety of the developers.

Ubergaming and other outspoken individuals in the GTA 6 the fan community seems to be frustrated that Rockstar didn't share anything about the game on the intended release date of May 26th. But at the end of the day, Rockstar Games doesn't owe impatient fans anything. Respect GTA 6s developers and give them the time and space they need to produce a game worthy GTA brand is all players need to do while they wait. Hassling them with stunts like these won't speed up the process, and the developers are likely stressed enough as it is.
