Important takeaways

  • According to a leak, Version 5.3 will add significant buffs to Pyro Traveler when fighting Xiuhcoatl.
  • Pyro Traveler's kit includes Nightsoul point restoration, which synergizes well with Natlan characters like Mavuika or Mualani.
  • The cooldown reduction on Elemental Skill allows for more fluid rotations with characters like Mualani, improving play options.

The latest beta release of version 5.3 has introduced sweeping changes to Pyro Traveler Genshin Impactalthough the changes only apply when fighting the new weekly boss. While Traveler has historically been a hit-or-miss character in Genshin ImpactNatlan hinted that the format would change in a significant way for the Pyro element. Not only was the Pyro Traveler delayed, but the method of obtaining the element was completely changed.

Enter the Pyro Traveler Genshin Impact expected to arrive in version 5.3, the ability will be used to confront Xiuhcoatl during the finale of Natlan's Archon Quest. As for how it compares to the beloved Dendro Traveller, the jury is still out. Although not the flashiest character in the Genshin Impactexpect Pyro Traveler to be a decent option for using Pyro off the field while still being able to use the new artifact sets from Natlan. More importantly, Pyro Traveler can also restore Nightsoul points to other Natlan characters, making the kit synergistic with units like Mavuika or Mualani.

Genshin Impact is giving away tons of free Primogems

Genshin Impact players will have the opportunity to claim a large number of free Primogems as part of a festive giveaway by HoYoverse.

While the latest beta has seen some controversial changes, Pyro Traveler has received significant buffs across the board. According to HomDGCat, the buffs only apply when Pyro Traveler fights Xiuhcoatl – likely during both his Story Mode and Trounce Domain encounter. Considering how elaborate the buffs are and how much effort HoYoverse took to balance them, Genshin Impact players believe there may be a way to use them outside of the new Trounce Domain. That said, nothing has been confirmed yet, and fans should assume that these buffs only apply when fighting the upcoming Genshin Impact weekly manager.

Aside from the constellations tied to the weekly boss, the biggest change for the Pyro traveler in Genshin Impact is a cooldown reduction on Elemental Skill. While 18 seconds still has 6 seconds of downtime, it allows for a more fluid rotation with characters like Mualani. The Elemental Skill applies Pyro Damage every 3 seconds, and unlike Dehya's Elemental Skill, the attack is constant rather than coordinated.

With Genshin Impact slowly teases Snezhnaya, there is (probably) only one elemental kit left for the traveler to acquire. While Hydro Traveler was widely seen as a disappointment after the success of Dendro Traveler, many players are hoping that Pyro Traveler will be worth the wait. The ability pack is really closer to a 4 star character i Genshin Impacthowever, images from the beta suggest that Pyro Traveler will find value in Natlan teams. Version 5.3 will be launched on January 1, 2025.
