8 Strongest Versions of Super Saiyan God, Ranked

Super Saiyan God changed everything for Goku when he unlocked it Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods. For the first time since the start of the Cell Saga, Goku was once again the strongest Z-Fighter. Not only that, gaining access to God Ki showed Goku that there were still new heights for him to achieve throughout the multiverse by proving that he hadn't even come close to reaching his full power.

Super Saiyan God is the result of a Saiyan using God Ki to transform instead of his regular Saiyan Ki. Goku unlocked Super Saiyan God by performing the God Ritual, but it is possible for a particularly powerful Saiyan to brutally force himself to trigger Super Saiyan God by training hard enough. The Super Saiyan God – and its many variants – is one of the powerful god forms in Dragon Ball Superwhich offers transformation-specific advantages over Super Saiyan Blue.

God's Crimson Radiance

User: Goku

Because Goku performed the god ritual to unlock the Super Saiyan God i Battle of Godshe was only given temporary access to the transformation. While fighting Beerus, the form eventually wears out and he reverts to Super Saiyan without realizing it. That said, Goku's body adapted to Super Saiyan God well enough where his base power level rose naturally just by being exposed to God Ki.

God's Crimson Radiance is a version of Super Saiyan God where the user can bring out some of God's natural power just by using the basic Super Saiyan transformation. Technically, every time Goku uses Super Saiyan 1 inch Dragon Ball Super after Battle of Godshe uses God's Crimson Radiance.

Ritual Super Saiyan God

User: Goku, Yamoshi

By gathering six pure-hearted Saiyans together, five of those Saiyans can perform the God Ritual to give the sixth Saiyan a massive power boost that allows them to unlock the Super Saiyan God. The ritual version of Super Saiyan God is only a temporary transformation that will wear out if the Saiyan using it fights for too long. This is what happened with Yamoshi before and with Goku below Battle of Gods.

Ritual Super Saiyan God is the weakest version of SSG after God's Crimson Radiance, although this is to be expected. The ritual version of Super Saiyan God is just an entry point to the form, as is God Ki. Once a Saiyan has mastered how to use God Ki in his base state, it is possible to unlock a stronger version of Super Saiyan God that can be unleashed at will, just like any other Super Saiyan form.

Saiyan beyond God

User: Goku, Vegeta

Saiyan Beyond God is an offshoot of Super Saiyan God that allows the user to use all of SSG's power without having to transform. Saiyan Beyond God is just canon too Dragon Ball Z movies and was contacted back by Dragon Ball Super anime and manga, where Goku and Vegeta still need to transform into the Super Saiyan God in order to use their full power.

Training on Whis' Planet together, Goku and Vegeta end up mastering God Ki, absorbing all of the Super Saiyan God's latent power into their base forms. In it Dragon Ball Super continuity, the duo simply raise their base power level instead of absorbing SSG's power into their bodies. Unlike God's Crimson Radiance which is functionally a stronger version of SSJ, Saiyan Beyond God has a white aura and does not change the user's physical appearance.

Super Saiyan God

Users: Goku, Vegeta, Shallot, Giblet, Shallet

Once a Saiyan has either performed the God Ritual or found another way to unlock God Ki, they can train their bodies to transform into Super Saiyan God at will. Vegeta unlocks Super Saiyan God just by training hard enough on Beerus' Planet. Unlike Goku, he didn't have to perform the god ritual to unlock the SSG. The main advantage of using Super Saiyan God over Super Saiyan Blue is the form's better Ki stability.

In it Dragon Ball Super manga, Super Saiyan Blue can only be triggered once per battle before severely reducing the user's power level. In the Universe 6 Tournament, Vegeta's power drops by 80% just by showing Cabba Super Saiyan Blue. Super Saiyan God is much more stable and can be used in the same way as Kaioken, allowing the user to quickly trigger Super Saiyan Blue for more powerful attacks without crippling the user's Ki and stamina.

Ultra Super Villain Super Saiyan God

User: Vegeta

Ultra Supervillain is a dark form created by Fu in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2which he uses to corrupt other fighters. In an alternate timeline where Vegeta performed the god ritual to fight Beerus Battle of Gods instead of Goku, Fu infects Vegeta and turns him into a super villain Super Saiyan God.

Ultra Supervillain Super Saiyan God Vegeta has purple and a purple aura like Ultra Ego, outclassing every single Z-Fighter in his timeline. Ultra Supervillain Super Saiyan God Vegeta is stopped only because he comes to his senses when fighting Super Saiyan God Goku. The power boost from Ultra Supervillain Super Saiyan God is also high enough to allow Vegeta to unlock Super Saiyan Blue faster than his main timeline counterpart.

Dark Super Saiyan God

User: Giblet

Dark Ki was introduced in Dragon Ball Legends as a Ki-type that can completely corrupt its user. Giblet is Shallot's twin brother and a powerful Ancient Saiyan who can transform into a Super Saiyan God. After being infected with Dark Ki, Giblet manages to take control of the dark energy and merge it with Super Saiyan God to become a Dark Super Saiyan God.

Dark Super Saiyan God is strong enough to fight on par with Super Saiyan Blue Kaoiken x20 Goku, beating Syn Shenron – one of the strongest villains in Dragon Ball GT. Unlike the normal version of Super Saiyan God, Dark Super Saiyan God puts enormous strain on the user's body and will eventually break them down in the same way as Kaioken.

God Broly

User: Broly (Dragon Ball Z)

God Broly is the main villain Dragon Ball Z: The Real 4-D at Super Tenkaichi Budokaian attraction at Universal Studios Japan. It has never been revealed how DBZ version of Broly unlocked God Ki, but God Broly is an offshoot of Super Saiyan God that mixes Broly's legendary Super Saiyan transformation with God Ki.

God Broly is strong enough to overwhelm Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Vegeta at the same time. God Broly is only defeated when Goku fuses with the literal crowd to become Super Saiyan Blue God Fusion Goku. In terms of power, God Broly is stronger than Goku and Vegeta were at the start of the Tournament of Power, but would realistically lose to Ultra Instinct Sign and Super Saiyan Blue Evolved respectively.

True Ultra Instinct Super Saiyan God

User: Goku

During Granolah the Survivor Saga, Goku learns how to mix Ultra Instinct with his various Super Saiyan forms. Calming his nerves while fighting Granolah, Goku manages to trigger Ultra Instinct while using Super Saiyan God. This is Goku's first step in mastering True Ultra Instinct, a version of the UI that allows him to react and attack instinctively, while taking advantage of his god form's power multipliers.

True Ultra Instinct Super Saiyan God is the absolute strongest version of Super Saiyan God. Goku basically gets two power-ups in one, allowing him to take a hit from Granolah that would otherwise have killed him on the spot. Mixing Ultra Instinct with SSG allows Goku to dodge faster than light attacks and fight back with his own raw power. By this point in the series, however, Goku has fully mastered Super Saiyan Blue and quickly replaces TUISSG with True Ultra Instinct Super Saiyan Blue.
