Games you have to finish in a specified time

Many games want you to admire them. Take the time, take up the sights, let yourself be submerged. It is nice to see the details of all these fictional worlds. It helps to make them feel lived in. But for some games it is not always meaningful to have the freedom to run around Willy-Nilly without any time.

Some games want you to be limited by their rules as well. If the world is threatened, it is not really meaningful that you spend weeks in the game without easily traveling around. Time limits like this help with the world's urgent and do so that you actually have to plan what you are dong at every given moment. And these games are some of the best on it.

Crusader Kings 3

Although it may be easy to stretch the definition, Crusader Kings 3 has absolutely a time limit. With the game set within Europe's Middle Ages, there is only so far that you can stretch that definition before it no longer makes sense. And the game's method to get around it is by simply ending the game when you have become far enough.

This means that you have a limit of just a few hundred years to achieve everything you want to achieve. It may take quite a long time, but then even a single bad succession can get your entire empire to be crumbled. These centuries will start to seem very short when you have to repair all these broken boundaries.

Fallout 1

The original case grew into a series that has changed quite a bit from its original incarnation. From a top-down game with a mix of real-time and tour-based battle, the original case also put some more restrictions on you. Namely in a fairly specific time limit. Your vault needs water before it runs out.

It would not make sense to have endless time in such a scenario, and then you have a limit of just 100 days in the game. This is a fairly generous limit, but that means you can't go outside the track if you want to avoid beating one too soon. Once you have returned the water chip to your vault, you have a new limit – 13 years. It is much less likely that you have ever met it.

Bleary

Lossigted is a mix between top-down battle games and a platform player. It mixes these styles wonderfully and gives a deep world with lots of secrets to explore, and a combat system that makes you want to come back and continue to try new loads. It's good, because you won't have time to see everything in a single run.

In Lossigted, the whole world is at a time limit, and your character is not excluded from it. As time goes by, characters begin to disappear until they are completely gone. Some articles may extend their lives, but you will never be able to save everyone and see everything they can offer you. It is a tragic experience, but one that forces you to prioritize the people you interact with.
