Final Fantasy 15 is very much about the trip, and so the world's scale is important. You spend the entire game driving across the roads or running through fields with Chocobo. And then you get a ship and can sail the seas. Finally, your reliable regalia can become its own airship and hover through the sky. And you can reach everywhere, although there is not always much to find.

Xenoblade Chronicles X.
Monolith Soft is well known to the big worlds the studios do and the incredible optimization made for each of them. Really incredible work. But for all Larges games it has done, none of them have hit the same scale as Xenoblade Chronicles X. Originally limited to Wii, Xenoblade Chronicles X is an open world on a scale that can match.

Located on the planet Mira, you are forced to walk everywhere on foot for large notches of the game, and that's when you realize how massive the game is. When you finally get your Skell, a mech, you can go through it much faster and reach brand new areas, which gives you a whole new perspective. When you finally get flights, you learn even more from the cracks of the world and you can't help but admire that no matter how you move through the world, it feels all balanced and you can really reach everywhere.

Wild breath
The Zelda games have always been about a degree of freedom, which gives you plenty of reason to explore, with later games that promote non-linearity. This was brought to its most extreme breath. Located throughout Hyrule, everywhere in sight, could be reached, from the moment you pick up your paraglids.
Yes, there are some cliffs in the north that you cannot reach, but you can still climb them until you run out of endurance rather than being with coercion. And literally to end the game whenever this idea is further pushing. Hyrule is a truly open world where you can go wherever you want, anytime. Although it is the last boss before you have talked to a different character.

Dragon's Dogma 2
After several years of waiting, Dragon's dogma not only came as a realization of some of the original's less developed ideas, but with a sufficiently different vision to allow it to differ from its predecessor. And a large part of that vision came in creating a very large, very grounded world that felt like you really had to travel through.
Each step in Dragon's Dogma 2 makes sense. You will trample the same roads over and over until you can walk them without touching a map. Even with heavy movement, the game never stops you to reach anywhere. Jump on the back of a griffon and let them take you far away. Don't you think you can reach an area by climbing? Just release it from above and revive yourself. Although there is nothing there, the game will only reward your curiosity.

The Grand Theft Auto Games has always been known more like a city simulation than Deep Open Worlds, but the two go hand in hand. Even a relatively sparsely open world can feel fathomless about the people within it acting organically. And the Grand Theft Auto 5, which mixes a dense city with a spreading mountain image, makes it so beautiful.

Most of the time you spend in the Kerbal Space program will be on earth to plan your start and its return. You cannot send your small kerbals into space without a return plane, after all. But at least you can really send them anywhere, from the asphalt of the starting platform, to the large reach.

Death beach is about reconnecting the disconnected America, whether it is metaphorical or literally. It is a great adventure, one that makes you go a lot much more than you can expect and worn more than a few pairs of boots. But if there is nothing else like that out there.

Yes, the landscape does not resemble actual America and is in fact designed after Iceland. But it does not remove from the large scale. When you enter the other region in the game, you will see the Far-Away Mountains, which feels like nothing but windows. No, you can and have to go there. And you don't get any vehicles up there. It is steps by tangling steps.

Only cause
The fair causes, which began specifically with Cause 2, always felt like what Grand Theft Auto would be if it was completely leaning into the absurdity. Explosions in abundance, yes, but also a character that can zip around as a high -tech superhero with pseudoscience weapons to make ever larger, more bizarre domino effect of explosions.
But what just makes it more memorable is the ability to go everywhere. You can cause devastation everywhere, and you should. The game gives you countless weapons and vehicles to do so and wants you to explore every inch of the world to destroy it. But what is all the more surprising is that even among these massive explosions are less joy, from islands shaped like pie to statues that follow you when you look away.

No man's heaven
The Kerbal Space program can allow you to explore the wide range of space, but it is limited to our own solar system. No man's sky is galaxies forward. Literally. You can surpass not just star systems, but the whole galaxy if you want. There are literally no boundaries, from the most unclear moon hiding in the track, the largest gas giant.
Every star you see is a new sytem to explore. Every world can be landed on and explored. Every inch can be terra -shaped. Even reaching the center of the universe just leads you to another. You can only continue, deeper and deeper and almost endless number of planets to explore. If you see it, it may be a destination.

Although there is no limit more endlessly than the space itself, it lacks some knowledge. Our scale of scale is determined by the familiar, and it is only in the acquaintance that we can really appreciate the scale. And there is basically no other game that literally literally our planet on a scale 1: 1 as Microsoft Flight simulator.
So massive and detailed that it requires constant cloud connection to even function, Microsoft Flight Simulator offers an outstanding representation of our world. Real plan, real weather, real airports, all in their real places. It's the planet, everything, and you can go wherever you want. Some places will be less detailed, especially when it comes to city centers, but the scale is there. And there really is nothing else that can satisfy the desire to walk literally everywhere like this.
