Steam's Free-to-Keep Promotion Has 5* Upcoming 100% Free Games for June 2026

At the time of this writing, Steam users can expect the platform's Free-to-Keep campaign to offer at least five games in June 2026, although one of them has a small caveat attached. Steam's Free-to-Keep promotion, for those unaware, is a publisher-initiated promotion where they offer their games completely free for a limited time, allowing anyone who claims the game within a week (usually) to add it to their digital libraries and keep it forever.

But the nature of Steam's Free-to-Keep campaign makes it less reliable and consistent than, say, the Epic Games Store free games. PC players always know when to expect them, while the Free-to-Keep campaign can often go live out of nowhere. Also, EGS announces them in advance, and Steam doesn't. That said, sites like Steamdb make it easier than ever to find the backend information on upcoming games for the Steam Free-to-Keep campaign, and while it's not concrete, it's pretty reliable. Not all games listed there reach a Free-to-Keep promotional period, but every Steam Free-to-Keep game appears on this list first.

New Factory Building Game on Steam is Factorio for Snacks

If you love to eat snacks and love to play Factorio, then this aptly named automation game will be right for you.

  • Conquer Your Fears – Caretaker

  • Gravity Circuit

  • Remothered: Tormented fathers

  • Red Lantern

  • Winexy

As such, fans can expect to see Conquer Your Fears – Warden, Gravity Ciruit, Remothered: Tormented Fathers, The Red Lanternand Winexy available sometime in June. Sometimes they're added weeks in advance, other times they're added hours in advance, so Steam's Free-to-Keep campaign will almost certainly have more than these games in June. They are simply the only ones with backend data available right now.

The important caveat here is Conquer Your Fears – Caretaker as I have omitted it from previous lists. Conquer Your Fears – Caretaker was already made Free to Keep on Steam at the beginning of May, and was on this list before that. Nevertheless, it has not been removed since then. Steam's Free-to-Keep campaign could theoretically roll it back at any time, so that's the caveat. It's uncertain why it's still there, as all other giveaways are removed on the day, but regardless, per backend data, these five games will be temporarily free in June. Nothing is free yet, but these games should be sometime in June.

The 2021 narrative game “The Red Lantern” may go free on Steam in June

Check out The Red Lantern on Steam (84% highly positive)

Red Lantern is a narrative game on Steam about a driver and some sled dogs, first and foremost, but it combines survival mechanics (choices, resource management, dog teams) and rogue-like gameplay in the Alaskan wilderness as well. It's exceptional in its direction and delivers on its execution for the most part, as each run becomes deeply personal.

  • Roguelite survival adventure set in the Alaskan wilderness

  • Management of dog teams with emotional attachment systems

  • Randomized events and replayable runs

  • Mechanics for managing resources and morale

2017 puzzle game Winexy may go free on Steam in June

Check out Winexy on Steam (67% positive results in mixed reviews)

The oldest game on the current list is also the easiest. Winexy is a simple physics-based platform game where players navigate a ball through various structures and obstacles. It's super-based, and most of the solutions to its puzzles are based on learning momentum and movement patterns, but nothing about it is particularly skill-based at all.

  • Physics-based platform

  • Momentum and timing-focused movement mechanics

  • Floating obstacle courses and challenge stages

  • Minimalistic design with arcade-style progression
