After a huge launch, Playground Games shared some impressive stats and achievements like Forza Horizon 6 community has achieved in just one week's time. It goes without saying Forza Horizon 6 was a highly anticipated game for 2026, as the game scored well among critics and players upon its release, helping the game break its own records in the process.
Part of that anticipation likely revolved around the fact that Forza Horizon 6 finally brought players to Japan. While the map isn't exactly a 1-to-1 recreation of Japan, Playground's take on the landscape includes large and varied biomes, ranging from the neon-drenched streets of Tokyo to coastal roads and the nature-heavy Takashiro region. It's also worth noting that while the Horizon series is known for letting players run a bit more on the wild side and rewarding smashing through items, Forza Horizon 6 protects particularly important cultural parts of Japan. Players will not be able to smash temples, cherry trees, or other important cultural elements to show respect for Japan's values and beliefs.

Forza Horizon 6 players have been very busy based on these statistics
A week after Forza Horizon 6s impressive launch, Playground Games celebrates how busy the player base has been during these 7 days. Taking to social media, the team put together a graphic that showcases many of the community's achievements in the game, including the fact that over 141 million hours have already been put into the game. Players have driven over 20 billion miles across the virtual map of Japan, taken 184 million photos and earned a total of 35 trillion credits. In addition to 19 million Raku Raku deliveries, players have earned over 18 million festival bracelets, crushed nearly 380 million mascots, and created over 63 million colors for their cars.

Funnily enough, the post also mentions that incidents are still being counted as being caused by the mysterious racer known as bowie knife99. This drifter has quickly become the unofficial villain Forza Horizon 6 too many, with tons of posts popping up online about how this AI racer wreaks havoc during races. Playground has since acknowledged the recent outcry from fans regarding how some AI opponents are “too fast” or too aggressive, but this is the first time the AI driver has been officially mentioned by name.
While it seems like fans are really loving the latest game in the popular franchise, the launch is just the beginning. Playground Games has not only thanked players for jumping into the game, but also teased what's next Forza Horizon 6. With new updates on the way to further enhance the experience, players will also see new car packs, such as the Italian Passion Car Pack in July, as well as two major DLC packs that are actively being worked on.

Amidst all the success the franchise has, and continues to see, other studios want to move in Forza Horizons territory. In fact, Playground Games is about to see some competition from its former co-founder. Gavin Raeburn, who has since founded Lighthouse Games just down the road, is working on what he believes will be one Forza Horizon-killer open world racing title. After feeling suffocated by not being able to innovate Forza Horizon series, Raeburn promises a big jump for the genre with his studio's upcoming games, confidently stating that they have ideas that no other studio is working on.
