Fortnite reveals upcoming weapon buffers

Fortnite has confirmed that three weapons will receive buffs, shaking up the battle balance in matches. Over the years, Fortnite has featured a large list of inventive weapons, and buffs and nerfs have continued to change which ones are more desirable and useful.

Sometimes these types of changes can completely make or break a weapon, but this time, Fortnite strives to give players more power. The announcement of this trio of gun enthusiasts comes on the same day as Fortnite confirmed a The Simpsons crossover, so Battle Royale fans have had a lot to celebrate.

Fortnite has confirmed buffs for three weapons

  • Thorn Ripper

  • Hand cannon

  • Wood Stake shotgun

The three weapons receiving a power boost are all very different, but their incoming upgrades will make regular users of the items happy. The newest of the trio is Thorn Ripper, which was added earlier this month. While the Hand Cannon and Wood Stake Shotgun have been around for a few years now, they continue to be fun weapons to use when available. Fortnite has been filled with major additions this month, as the annual Fortnitemares event has been in full swing.

The Thorn Ripper and Wood Stake Shotgun buffs focused primarily on increasing damage, with the former also improving reliability, while the Hand Cannon will be faster to equip and is meant to be more accurate. Most of the FortniteThe best additions this month have been horror-themed, but the announcement of weapon buffs could provide a better challenge. With Season 4 of Chapter 6 quickly coming to a close, these weapon upgrades could be a great way to end the season with a bang during matches.

Jason Voorhees in Fortnite

Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 5 begins 1 November.

There's still a few days left to jump into the haunted Fortnitemares event, and there's now even more firepower available to wreak some extra havoc. When Fortnitmares is over, Simpsons will immediately take their place, and once that event is underway, it will be interesting to see what awaits players this year. Fortnite’s longevity has hinged on its many crossovers with pop culture franchises, and it will be just as fascinating to see what lies beyond the upcoming The Simpsons crossover. Until then, for players who love the Thorn Ripper, Hand Cannon, and Wood Stake Shotgun, now is a good time to use the weapons as much as possible before they are either vaulted or replaced again.
