One of the most exciting of all, however, is on the Battle Pass bonus page with the Godzilla Evolved skin. While the skin is confirmed as a Battle Pass reward, players won't be able to access it until early 2025.

The Godzilla franchise has spawned a robust list of spin-offs and adaptations since the first film premiered in 1954. The character of Godzilla has permeated Japanese pop culture since its birth, making it a perfect cover for Chapter 6 Season 1. Thanks to the worldwide love for Godzilla the introduction of this shell marks a huge release date in the Fortnite for players to look forward to.

Godzilla sets a high bar for moving forward

Godzilla arriving in January is a big collaboration, but it also sets a high standard for the rest of 2025 when it comes to playable skins. The many updates that are made Fortniteas well as the new Kicks cosmetics, ushers in a new era of the game, and combined with the presence of Godzilla, the rest of the year will have to match such high notes.

Also, this could signal the arrival of another big movie monster on the horizon. According to reports from well-known leaker ShiinaBR, King Kong may also be coming Fortnite sometime in the near future. This has yet to be confirmed by Epic Games, so it should be taken lightly, but this would fall in line with Fortnites Godzilla Evolved skin. The version of Godzilla used in the Battle Pass is from the latest film Godzilla x Kong: The New Empireso introducing King Kong as well might not be out of the realm of possibility.

When the Godzilla Evolved skin becomes available on January 17th, players will need to complete a series of Battle Royale missions to unlock it.

2025 could be a massive year for Fortnite

Godzilla's arrival is big enough on its own, but if King Kong is thrown into the mix, it could be a crossover of epic proportions. The aforementioned leak from ShiinaBR did not specify whether a potential King Kong appearance would be in the form of a skin or NPC, so only time will tell. As Fortnite continues to break records, the addition of big skins like Godzilla and potentially King Kong will only draw in more players.
