Diablo 4 Season 10 is Season of Infernal Chaos, but it feels more like Season of the Druid with how the class has dominated the meta. Druids received several new tools in their kits this season that have made Companion Druid builds S-tier contenders, including several class-specific Chaos Perks and the Kilt of Blackwing Chaos Armor. However, Druid fans should take advantage of the class' time in the sun while they can, because Diablo 4 Season 11 will likely nerd out its most OP build.
Fans have already had an opportunity to see what's to come Diablo 4 in Season 11 via the latest PTR beta of update 2.5.0. Although the game makes some drastic changes in its specification and combat in season 11, changes to Diablo 4's Masterworking is already controversial among players. To make matters worse, some of Diablo 4The best features have come in the form of Season 10's Chaos Perks and Chaos Armor mechanics, which will disappear after the season ends.
With Chaos Perks Gone, Ravens Druid Builds will be fighting in Diablo 4 Season 11
Season 10 is the perfect storm for Druid players afterwards Diablo 4 built on the class' success in Season 9. The Raven's Druid build particularly benefits from the Kilt of Blackwing Unique's focus on buffing the companions over their Wolves counterparts. By giving Druid players increased cooldown reduction for Ravens, a chance for Ravens to deal double damage, and a unique addition that increases Raven's total damage and provides an opportunity to summon another Raven, this version of the Companion Druid build is finally viable as a meta build.
Chaos Perks made Ravens Druids virtually unbeatable in Season 10
-
Abundance — Magic Druid Chaos Perk
-
Purge the Infected — Rare Druid Chaos Perk
-
Wild Transformations — Legendary Druid Chaos Perk
-
Wildness — Unique Druid Chaos Perks
In general, Chaos Perks are a game changer for Diablo 4 builds that will be sorely missed when season 10 ends. However, the Druid will be most affected by their removal in Season 11, as the core of this S-tier Ravens build comes from Savagery's ability to turn Companion skills into Core skills, removing their cooldowns and instead making them consume Spirit when cast. This change essentially allows players to spam Ravens constantly, and with the damage multipliers from other legendary aspects and Chaos Perks like Overabundance, they can melt enemy health bars with every cast.
Even with a new unique, the Druids will have a mountain to climb in Diablo 4 Season 11
Although the Kilt of Blackwing Unique isn't going anywhere Diablo 4 Season 11, the loss of Savagery as a Chaos Perk is a huge blow to Raven's Druid build. Without Savagery, this build's main source of DPS is no longer Ravens, but instead Druid's Werebear and Werewolf skills like Pulverize and Shred, with Ravens acting primarily as a support skill. The Druid will receive the new Khamsin Steppewalkers Unique Boots next season, which allow the player to store charges by damaging enemies with Storm skills before granting Max Movement Speed and Unhindered for each charge they have after casting a defensive skill, but this unique probably won't be enough to act as a replacement for Chaos Perks.
To make matters worse, the changes of Masterworking in Diablo 4 Season 11 can also destroy the vitality of some Uniques that rely on the power of affixes that increase the rank of skills. During the planned reworking of Diablo 4s Masterworking system, each upgrade would no longer increase all attachments by 5% with a significant increase to one attachment every four upgrades, but instead increase an item's overall quality with each upgrade. This means that players would not be able to optimize their Kilt of Blackwing with more +Ranks to Ravens as a way to optimize DPS for the Companion skill, effectively nerfing the entire build.
