The last act of Destiny 2: Heresy Elements recently, and unless Bungie reveals any surprises in the near future, it will be the last significant story update before Boundaries. The past year has been strange for the game, with the publication of the acclaimed The final form Expansion was followed by three sections that received mixed reception.
Things would always be difficult for Bungie after finishing the light and darkness saga with 2024's expansion, and there are many questions about Destiny 2Next step. There are many options on the table to get players engaged with a new new story and start the next long bow, and the studio has the perfect character that the tip of this new direction, one that has had very little to do recently.

Marathon Dev clarifies that it is not trying to replace Destiny 2
The marathon developer makes it clear that the new item in the classic sci-fi first person's shooting franchise is not supposed to replace Destiny 2.
Destiny 2 Frontiers should not miss the chance to pull this character from the bench
When you enter the distant unknown beyond the solar system, there are few characters that are more prepared than drives. He has been on some of the strangest parts of FateThe universe, and this has always made him an outsider. Maybe because of this, drives have not had too much time to shine, come and go for a few seasons, and it is unusual for him to reveal a lot about himself.
It is this enigmatic streak in the operator that has created so much speculation about the character. From his happy personal person to his strange, red -eyed ghost, he is a character in disguise on so many levels. Bungie's writers have taken steps to highlight the separation between drives and Vanguard, which has helped to leave the door open for more storytelling opportunities in the long term. Only recently were drives and Eris Morn's relationship by Bungie, a big step for their story bows.
The operator could play a huge role in Destiny 2 Frontiers
Players could see more of Drifter in Boundarieswhere his experience of deep space would be invaluable. One of the most well -known excerpts by Lore if drives is that he visited an ice plane inhabited by strange, dark creatures that could swing out the light from the ghosts, and he was the only survivor of his crew. Probably what he stores aboard the decay is one of the creatures from that planet, and it is part of running Gambit.
The nature of the drives has so many directions that it can go in Boundariesalso. He is the only member of Vanguard without an outflowed backstory, with Crow and Zavala's history that receives significant attention for many seasons. Maybe there is something out there in the boundaries in space that the operator has driven from, something he thought he would never have to meet again. It can provide a fascinating jumping point for the mysterious new expansion, as “something” must be very large to scare the operator.
Gambit may have been the cause of the driver's absence
It is not a secret among Fate Players like Gambit is a controversial position. Its debut introduced drives to the story, and although it hit a peak for a short time, gaming has steadily fallen off over the years, despite attempts at resuscitation by Bungie. Since then, the studio has clearly tried to make drives more than just the Gambit supplier and binds his story to the more esoteric pages of Lore, but it seems his association with the situation may have damaged his relevance to the larger plot.
It's here Boundaries could change everything for drives. It is a new start in many respects, and it would be the perfect ground to grow drives to a central character in Fateas mara slept or Eris morn is. The man with all the secrets, and all the countless luggage, is perfect for a story about exploring the unknown and investigating what it does for a person.
