Netflix just announced at Anime Expo 2026 that Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is coming back in the fall, later this year. If you haven't seen the show before, here's your warning big bold text: click away. We delve into spoilers.
By the end of the first season, almost everyone — including David — was flat-lined, which means Edgerunners 2 introduces a whole new crew. Netflix and CD Projekt Red have spent the last four days trickling out individual teasers, and the latest post (embedded below) serves as our first official look at the squad in full:
The whole crew assembled
Weak 'King' Kingsley, a veteran Edgerunner who “now lives in the shadow of his former glory”, can be seen towering over the gang at the back. On the left, sitting on a crate, is D, a Snack Nation Netrunner hunting the killer who wiped out his clan. The pink-haired woman on the right is Talia Yang; she comes from the corpotorn, “but her heart belongs to chrome and violence.” And finally, right at the front – with the camera – is Roman Carax, “a young cinematographer in search of real stories in a city that abandoned the cinema for brain dancing.”
Kai Ikarashi, who worked in the art department on the first season of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners – and whose previous credits include Mob Psycho 100, Evangelion: 3.0+1.01 Thrice Upon a Time and Little Witch Academia: The Enchanted Parade – will take over as director from Hiroyuki Imaishi, while the studio will produce the show.
“Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 presents a new self-contained 10-episode story set in the Cyberpunk world of 2077 – a raw chronicle of redemption and revenge,” reads the description. “In a city that thrives on the spotlight of violence, one question remains: when the world is blinded by spectacle, to what extremes must you go to make your story matter?”
