Even during the early access period, Hades 2 was filled to the brim with excellent content, exciting gameplay, and some of the best characters around. It somehow got even better with its full release and its arrival on consoles, bringing many new things for you to lose countless hours to, yet again. One of the things that was added throughout the launch was the Familiar Forms system, which allows you to change the appearance of your trusty animal companions.
But, as you probably guessed, you need to complete some work beforehand to access this feature. Fortunately, if you've been playing since the early access period, you've probably checked off most of the prerequisites. But if this is your first time through the game, you'll need to put in a lot of time and effort to unlock this, which will be worth it when you see how sick some of these skins are!
How to unlock familiar forms
Familiar shapes in Hades 2 is pretty much a feature too late in the end, which you will need tackle a rather extensive checklist before you can access it.

The good news, though, is that you will be uncheck most of these items when playing naturally throughout the game, so you don't have to deviate too much from your overall goal. Still, if you're thinking of diving in as soon as possible, know that it's probably going to be a while if you're just starting out!
Familiar forms Prerequisites
Unlock familiar forms
After meets all requirements above, you can finally unlock Familiar Forms, but it will require a few more steps. First you have to start a run on the surface and get to Rift of Thessaly (the second region with all boats). Play through until you reach Circe, as she wants give you the spell needed to unlock familiar forms.
If all the above conditions are met, you will receive a unique dialog box before choosing your Offer from Circe. If you don't get that, then you're probably missing something, which is probably spending at least 20 Witch's Delight or having 30 Grasp. Make sure these milestones are met and then try again!
Once you receive the Change of Familiar Forms spell from Circe, end your current run and go back to the big one cauldron in Korsvägen. Well here you will be able to create the spell if you have the following:
From there you can simply go to the training area area, go up to your preferred acquaintance and choose Form option (R2/RT) to see all available forms. Of course you will need specific materials to unlock said form, but at least you have the option to do so now!
