In the run-up to its much-anticipated release, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves has revealed Gato as the latest playable character confirmed for the game. Developed by SNK, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves marks the return of one of the oldest popular fighting game IPs in the world, with the series starting in 1991 with Fatal Fury: King of the Fighters.
Already in 2022, SNK announced that a Fatal Fury the sequel was in development and filled longtime fans with excitement. After about 26 years, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves will mark the return of the franchise on April 24, 2025, on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S and PC. The fighting game will continue the story of the previous entry in the series, 1999 Garou: Mark of the Wolves. Over the past few months, various fighters – such as Kim Dong Hwan and Mai Shiranui – have been revealed to be part of the upcoming Fatal Fury the playlist.

In a recently released trailer for Fatal Fury: City of the WolvesGato has been announced as the latest confirmed addition to the game's growing catalog of fighters. Starting from quick punches to theatrical finishers, the clip shows the different moves the fighter is set to bring to the game. Voiced by Cory Yee, Gato can be seen wearing a traditional-looking black outfit along with dark green pants throughout the video, which is also close to what fans have come to expect based on previous iterations of the character. Joins the lineup City of Wolves making him yet another martial artist in the new Fatal Fury except for Hotaru Futaba.

Gato makes a grand arrival Fatal Fury: City of the Wolvess list, thanks to him getting his own trailer for the game. The returnee Fatal Fury character, which first appeared in Garou: Mark of the Wolvesdepicted as a vengeful combatant who fights his enemies with his eyes closed to sharpen his other senses and movements. Interestingly, Gato has appeared on several occasions in SNK's Fatal Fury and The King of Fighters franchise agreement.
