Capcom may have mistakenly confirmed that a Resident Evil Code: Veronica remake will be announced soon, likely during the Summer Game Fest. While the confirmation isn't explicit, it follows a pattern of what Capcom has done before others Resident Evil the game reveals.
Fans of Resident Evil franchise has asked for one Code: Veronica remake for a very long time now, especially after the release of the second one Resident Evil remakes. So far, Resident Evil 2, 3and 4 have all received state-of-the-art RE Engine remakes, but Code: Veronica has been curiously absent from that list. However, recent activity may indicate that fans are about to get what they're hoping for.

The 18 Scariest Resident Evil Games, Ranked
Capcom's Resident Evil is the definitive horror franchise, but the games aren't as scary. RE7, Village, RE4 and Requiem are top contenders.
Major Resident Evil discount tips on remake announcement
The Resident Evil franchise is currently enjoying strong sales across all platforms, including PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch. This is something that Capcom usually does right before a big reveal of a new game in the franchise. As pointed out by reputed leaker Dusk Golem, the Resident Evil 4 Remake in particular has an extremely steep discount, currently sitting at 75% off at $9.99. This is the lowest price it has ever been offered for, and Resident Evil 4 was the last remake game in the series to launch. The theory suggests that Capcom may offer this particularly steeply RE 4 remake discount, which started on PC just a day before the summer gaming party, to build up some hype Resident Evil Code: Veronica finally getting its remake. That's what the same leaker previously said Code: Veronica will be announced in 2026.

Capcom has been on a roll lately with Resident Evil franchise, so it would make sense to announce a new game now. Most ardent fans of the franchise have probably quit Resident Evil Requiem at this point, so it won't take much attention away from the latest brand new game in the series. During a period between 2019-2023, Resident Evil got at least one new game per year, starting with Resident Evil 2 remake. It was followed by RE 3 remake, spin-off Resident Evil: Resistance, Resident Evil Village, Resident Evil RE: Verseand RE 4 remake ends the line. With Resident Evil Requiem launched in 2026, it is possible that a new series could begin with RE code: Veronica potentially follow it.
Even if Resident Evil 4 was the last remake game to be released, chronologically, Resident Evil Code: Veronica should have started before that. However, it is not the only game that has been skipped so far. Resident Evil Zero has also not received a remake, and recent rumors have indicated that the original Resident Evil could see a second remake, with the first launching back in 2002 for the GameCube. Players have also wondered about the possibility of Resident Evil 5 get a remake, especially since the game is quite controversial.
