Capcom is absolutely on fire right now

Capcom has been on an incredible roll, and it doesn't look like the company's momentum is slowing down anytime soon. Capcom has been one of the premier video game developers and publishers for decades now, with a number of ground-breaking, high-profile franchises under its belt, including Mega man, Street Fighter, Resident Evil, Devil May Cryand Monster Hunterto name just a handful.

Like any gaming company, Capcom has had its ups and downs over the years. There was a period a little over a decade ago then Resident Evil lost and different Mega man project was canceled when it seemed that perhaps Capcom's best days were behind it. But then Capcom came back swinging along Resident Evil 7which served as a renaissance for its flagship survival horror series, and while there have been a couple of misses since then, the company has mostly delivered a nonstop barrage of high-quality gaming experiences.

By expertly mixing pure horror and action, Resident Evil Requiem becomes the ultimate Resident Evil experience.

Just look at Capcom's 2026 output so far. In February, Capcom released Resident Evil Requiem to rave reviews, with the game's impressive 89 overall rating making it one of the highest rated games of the year and one of the highest rated RE game ever made. A month later, Monster Hunter Stories 3 hit the scene with equal acclaim (getting 85 points), and most recently, Pragmatics was released to mostly positive reviews as well (scoring 87). Three of the top-rated games of 2026 are from Capcom, and there's even more to look forward to in the coming months.

Capcom's full slate for 2026 isn't detailed yet, but we know it Onimusha: Path of the Sword released in 2026. Onimusha: Path of the Sword is a reboot of Capcom's action-adventure samurai series, and what's been shown so far has looked incredibly impressive. If Capcom's other 2026 ventures are any indication, chances are good Onimusha: Path of the Sword will prove to be one of the better new game releases of the year.

Capcom's hot streak really started 2017 with Resident Evil 7was released, and the company has been on fire ever since. There have been some failed experiments, which Exoprimal multiplayer dinosaur game that didn't really take off and Resident Evil Re:Verse spin-off that has since been shut down, but by and large Capcom's output has been of high quality.

Street Fighter 6 won Best Fighting Game at The Game Awards 2023, Devil May Cry 5 won Best Action Game at The Game Awards 2019, and more Resident Evil game has been nominated for Game of the Year. Capcom's remakes, compilations and remasters have given fans the chance to relive some of the company's older favorites as well, ensuring there's a healthy mix of old games and brand new releases.

While Capcom keeps much of its future games under wraps, leaks and rumors have revealed more Resident Evil remakes are on the way, med Code: Veronica believed to be on deck for 2027 and Resident Evil Zero coming in 2028. A second remake of the first Resident Evil The game is believed to be in production as well. In terms of officially announced games, we have Mega Man: Dual Override come 2027, and it will be a wonderful return to form for the Blue Bomber.
