Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 33 has once again highlighted the incredible strength of Mikio Ikemoto as a writer when it comes to delivering exposition and fleshing out the supporting cast properly. Fans of Naruto know very well that Masashi Kishimoto struggled tremendously when it came to strengthening the main role of Konoha in the later parts of the series, but it has now become the greatest strength of Boruto. In the latest Mamushi arc, which finally saw the fall of Shinju Mamusi, Boruto has given exciting roles to the vast majority of the supporting cast, but most notably, Inojin Yamanaka, who has become the surprising MVP of this incredible arc, rising above all expectations.

Breaks down Kishimoto's lack of time for the leads
Masashi Kishimoto is a brilliant writer, and there's no denying that fact. In Naruto he has written a brilliant story that has immortalized itself and will be remembered for centuries. However, Kishimoto's story has its own flaws, just like any other story, and for him one of the biggest is that he struggles to handle multiple characters. Masashi Kishimoto failed miserably with his lead role in the Naruto series.
The vast majority of the Konoha 11 and the other teams were barely involved in the action in the second half, and even in the war they remained largely undeveloped. This is one of the biggest flaws in Kishimoto's story, and something that the Boruto manga has done wonders to fix.
How Inojin Yamanaka's characterization in the Mamushi arc solves the obvious problems of the predecessor
In the original Boruto: Naruto Next Generations manga, Mikio Ikemoto didn't highlight the supporting characters as much, but Two Blue Vortex has done wonders in that regard. The latest Mamushi arc, which just concluded with Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 33, finally focused on members of Team 10, specifically Inojin Yamanaka. At the beginning of this arc, Inojin was asked to develop a new jutsu, and he did so brilliantly, while also creating an almost sonar-like detection system that far surpasses Konoha's own barriers that have existed for decades.
I have to do it. I have steeled myself to do what is necessary! — Inojin Yamanaka, Two Blue Vortex Chapter 33
If that wasn't enough in itself, Inojin was the main reason why Shinju Mamushi was even defeated in Chapter 33. He steeled his resolve and showed himself to be a truer shinobi than the vast majority of the Boruto cast. Inojin was immediately summoned to the battlefield and used the Mind Transfer Jutsu on one of the Mamushi and directed killing intent at the Daemon, forcing everyone else to do the same. Considering the killing intent caused Mamushi's eyes to explode, it basically ended Shinju in its entirety. All that said, this did not come at a small cost; Inojin also lost his own eyes in the process, showing that despite knowing he would be blinded, he was ready to take this risk and prove himself as a true ninja.

Other side characters that Ikemoto focuses on
Inojin Yamanaka is certainly one of the best characters in Two Blue Vortex so far, but he's not the only supporting character that gets exposition in this story. The Two Blue Vortex manga also developed Himawari Uzumaki brilliantly, and it continues to focus on the likes of Sarada Uchiha, despite both being ignored for the first half of the story.
Similarly, other characters like Eida and Daemon get their fair share of attention, and it's very likely that more supporting characters, like Shikadai and Chocho, along with the likes of Konohamaru, will be developed moving forward. The Boruto The series has handled the supporting cast very well for the most part, and while fans still have complaints about characters like Konohamaru, things will eventually fall into place. This has been proven once again by Inojin's development in Two Blue Vortex Chapter 33, and more exciting things will follow in the next manga chapter of the story.
