Players report getting points from flash-banging teammates, friendly fire, and even after dying from their own smoke grenades.
For some bizarre reason, flashbang your teammates in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 seems to give you XP.
That's according to YouTuber Expel, who posted a clip on Twitter of them throwing multiple flashbangs into a hallway, raking in XP, right before a perfectly timed “DEFEAT” card slammed into the screen.
“Do with this information what you will,” they wrote in the tweet. It's probably (hopefully) not intentional, but for now, you might want to keep an eye out for mourners who take advantage of this “tactic.”
Commentators claim it doesn't end with flashbangs either. One answer says that “Throwing smoke and getting killed in your own smoke also gives you XP” (or if your teammates get killed), and another claims they got a headshot medal from friendly fire. One commentator even believes that friendly fire contributed to their camouflage. Let's not test it.
Grief can give you a small boost of XP, but you probably won't win many matches self-sabotaging.

Forced to go rogue. Hunted from within. This is Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

With a thought-provoking story and unbound by the rules of engagement, this is signature Black Ops.
The Black Ops 6 campaign provides dynamic moment-to-moment gameplay that includes a variety of playgrounds with blockbuster backdrops and action-packed moments, high-stakes heists, and cloak-and-dagger espionage activities.
