Cyberware plays a huge part in Cyberpunk 2077, but pairing it with specific builds can be a little bit tricky to get the hang of. This is mostly because of the sheer amount of cyberware in the game – there’s an awful lot to choose from, and so choosing anything at all can become pretty daunting alarmingly fast.

Cyberpunk 2077: Everything You Need To Know About Non-Lethal Combat
Non-lethal combat in Cyberpunk 2077 is a woefully underexplained mechanic — this guide should teach you all you need to know about it.
If you’re having a lot of fun with your current playstyle, but are unsure about how to best optimize it with tech and gadgets, look no further than this comprehensive Cyberpunk 2077 best cyberware guide, which includes specific sections for every major build in the game.
Updated October 27, 2024, by Sean Murray: Much of Cyberpunk 2077 has changed since the game’s initial release, and nowhere is this more true than your chrome. We’ve updated this guide to better reflect the current statistics for cyberware and which general build is best suited to their use.
Cyberware is generally better the rarer it is, so this guide assumes we are discussing each individual component at max specs, or in its most rare variant.
Cyberpunk 2077 – Best Cyberware For Sharpshooters
Sharpshooters are sneaky snipers, and are therefore best at controlling combat from afar. As a result, you’ll primarily want to use cyberware that increases your gun’s strength and optics, as well as cyberware that allows you to benefit from being in a remote area.
Immovable Force |
Perhaps the best upgrade for a sniper, this cyberware cuts down on both recoil and bullet spread and also activates cover-based effects even when you’re in the open. Grab this as soon as you get to Dogtown. |
---|---|
Ballistic Coprocessor |
Power weapons are some of the best snipers in Cyberpunk, and being able to see where a bullet will ricochet can offer an enormous tactical advantage. The added damage is a bonus too. |
Shock Absorber |
The less recoil you have to deal with, the easier it’ll be to fire multiple shots in quick succession. Important for when you’re being attacked by an entire gang. |
Visual Cortex Support |
The further away the enemy, the greater your critical hit chance. And since you’re sniping, your target is usually pretty far away. |
Deep-field Visual Interface |
Basically the same as the Visual Cortex, but offers an even higher critical hit chance. Only available in Dogtown. |
Kerenzikov |
Activate bullet time by sliding or dodging to pull off that perfect shot. |
Optical Camo |
Your enemy can’t shoot what they can’t see. Also makes for some easy sneak attacks. |
Rangeguard |
Gain more armor the further you are from enemies. Snipers stay far away, so enjoy that bonus armor. |
Kiroshi “Stalker” Optics |
This only works with Tech-based snipers, but being able to see and shoot through walls is basically cheating. |
Militech “Apogee” Sandvistan |
A Sandevistsan is a great option for snipers as they all offer big damage bonuses while slowing time. Of all of them, the Militech Apogee offers the biggest bonuses for the longest time, allowing you to plink heads until there are no heads left to plink. |
Cyberpunk 2077 – Best Cyberware For Gunslingers
Gunslingers use guns too – obviously! – but are more interested in close or mid-range combat. They mainly rely on pistols, revolvers, SMGs, and assault rifles, but these cyberware implants can help them out in pretty major ways, too.
Ballistic Coprocessor |
Most pistols and revolvers are power weapons, so having better ricochets and seeing where those ricochets will land can be a big damage boost for you. |
---|---|
Immovable Force |
More accurate bullets, less recoil. Both good things for a gunslinger. Only available in Dogtown. |
Shock Absorber |
Only reduces recoil, so Immovable Force is strictly better, but it’s still good to have. |
Visual Cortex Support |
It’s not quite as powerful in the hands of a pistolero, but your enemies are still some distance away, which means this provides you with a bonus to your crit chance. |
Kiroshi “Clairvoyant” Optics |
Things can get chaotic in a close-range shootout. Having your enemies glow can make them a little easier to spot, especially in dim environments. |
Adrenaline Convert / Adreno Trigger |
Gunslingers are all about running and gunning, so faster movement speed can really help the ‘running’ part of that equation. |
Kerenzikov |
Never lose a duel again. Just dodge or slide to activate bullet time and line up the perfect headshot. |
Clutch Padding |
Retaining your stamina in a gunfight is important, and this reduces the stamina cost of shooting. This leaves more stamina for shooting gangoons in the face. |
Militech “Falcon” Sandevistan |
Sandevistans are just as good on gunslingers as they are snipers, and the Falcon offers both big damage and health regeneration per kill. Perfect for the gunslinger who likes to get up-close and personal. |

Cyberpunk 2077: Everything You Need To Know About The Monowire
The monowire is an important tool in Cyberpunk 2077. Here’s everything you need to know.
Cyberpunk 2077 – Best Cyberware For Street Samurai
Samurai are fast, close-combat melee users. The idea here is to deal as much damage as possible as quickly as possible, while focusing on cyberware that enables offense-based survivability.
Blood Pump |
Charging headlong at enemies means you’ll inevitably catch a bullet (or more likely, several bullets). Blood Pump is the best healing item in the game. It’ll patch you up so you can slice and dice. |
---|---|
Biomonitor |
This both improves your health item’s healing factor and automatically uses it when your health drops below 50 percent. Another must-use item for those who live life dangerously. |
Militech Berserk |
Every Berserk cyberware offers some combination of damage reduction, stamina cost reduction, and increased melee damage, but the Militech Berserk actually makes you completely invulnerable and provides increased movement speed. Every Berserk is good, but this Berserk is best. |
Proxishield / Peripheral Inverse |
This cyberware provides damage reduction based on proximity to enemies, which is highly useful for melee users. Peripheral Inverse only available in Dogtown. |
Dense Marrow |
Wanna deal more melee damage? This cyberware does exactly that. A must have. |
Stabber |
Increased crit chance with blades. Perfect for street samurai everywhere. |
Jenkins’ Tendons |
Getting close as quickly as possible is the name of a swordsman’s game, and Jenkin’s Tendons gives you a huge sprint boost for exactly as long as you need it. |
Newton Module / Axolotl |
Reduces the cooldown of cyberware after each kill. Great for getting your Berserk back when you need it. Axolotl only available in Dogtown. |
Microrotors |
Faster melee attack speed is always good. |
Adrenaline Converter / Adreno Trigger |
More movement speed at the start of combat gets you into chopping distance faster. |
Adrenaline Booster |
Provides a stamina boost every time you melee an opponent to death. Important for continued mayhem, dodging, and sprinting. |
Cyberpunk 2077 – Best Cyberware For Assault
Assault is a more hybrid class between a gunslinger and a melee user. It’s best played with heavy guns, such as shotguns and machine guns, charging into combat while you rely on your cyberware for healing and damage reduction.
Blood Pump |
You’ll want Blood Pump as an assault specialist for the same reason as melee users; you’re going to get hurt, and this cyberware provides the best healing in the game. |
---|---|
Biomonitor |
You’re often going to be too caught up in the heat of battle to remember to heal yourself, so why not let this cyberware do it for you? Automatic healing when you need it most. |
Epimorphic Skeleton |
More health is always good to have for a build that’s as brutal and in-your-face as the assaulter. |
Para Bellum / Rara Avis |
Armor is just as important as health and stamina. The more the better, and these both provide a percentage increase, which can mean a huge armor boost. Get the Rara Avis in Dogtown. |
Neofiber |
Damage mitigation is sort of like damage reduction, but doesn’t always work. Still, the higher your damage mitigation chance and strength, the better, especially if you’re going to be an assaulter. |
Pain Editor |
Damage reduction is like having more health, only better. |
Subdermal Armor / Chitin |
Armor is required for an assaulter. Get the Chitin in Dogtown as soon as you can. |
Militech “Falcon” Sandevistan |
Bullet time and more damage makes you harder to hit and hit harder. All Sandevistans are good for the assault class, but this one is the best. |
Kiroshi “Clairvoyant” Optics |
As with gunslingers, close-in fights can get hard to follow. Highlighted enemies help prioritize targets in hard-to-see environments. |
Spring Joints |
Greater mitigation strength means you take even less damage when your mitigation chance triggers. |
Shock Absorber |
Less recoil is absolutely essential for shotguns and machine guns, both of which will wrench your arm off otherwise. |
Immovable Force |
Less recoil and less bullet spread are also helpful for shotguns and machine guns, as it is for pretty much all guns. |
Leeroy Ligament System |
Faster movement means getting to cover or to combat faster. |
Cyberpunk 2077 – Best Cyberware For Netrunners
Hackers do exactly what they say on the tin – they hack! Here’s the best way to spice up your hacking capabilities with cyberware. A cyberdeck is definitely required chrome.
Bioconductor / COX-2 Cybersomatic Optimizer |
Crit chance with your quickhacks means more damage, and more damage is always better than less damage. |
---|---|
Ex-Disk |
Faster upload speed means your quickhacks fire off faster, keeping you safe when you’re caught flat-footed or just killing your enemies quicker. Also providees a big RAM boost. |
Tetratronic Rippler Mk.5 Cyberdeck |
What cyberdeck you use as a netrunner depends on the type of hacking you want to do, but the best all-rounder is the Tetratronic Rippler. |
Monowire |
You can activate quickhacks by slicing people with the Monowire, so make this your arm cyberware. |
Kiroshi “Sentry” Optics |
Gotta see cameras and turrets to hack them, and these optics make cameras and turrets pretty easy to spot. |
Smart Link |
You’re most likely to be using Smart weapons as a hacker, so the Smart Link is an obvious and essential piece of kit. If you’re not using the Tyger Claws Imprint, use this. |
Tyger Claws Dermal Imprint |
At Tier 3 and above, the Tyger Claws Dermal Imprint provides a lock-on speed buff—something that even the Smart Link doesn’t get. It also costs zero cyberware capacity, which can be great for a netrunner already chromed to the nines. |
Reinforced Tendons |
Some hacking points are in hard-to-reach areas, and this leg cyberware will get you there with a nice double jump. |

Cyberpunk 2077 – Best Cyberware For Stealth
Stealth builds aren’t quite as tied to cyberware, but there are definitely some gadgets you can equip to help yourself avoid detection.
Basic Kiroshi Optics |
They may be the most basic type of optics you can get, but they make it harder for cameras to spot you, which helps with stealth. |
---|---|
Lynx Paws |
Make your footsteps 50 percent quieter. You also gain increased sneaking (crouched) movement speed. |
Optical Camo |
Wanna be invisible temporarily? Optical Camo will do that for you. Just remember, being invisible doesn’t mean undetectable. |
Arasaka Mk.5 Cyberdeck |
There are several quickhacks that can make infiltration easier, and the Arasaka-branded cyberdeck offers several buffs to those Covert quickhacks. |
Cyberpunk 2077 – Best Cyberware For All Builds
Finally, there’s some cyberware in Cyberpunk 2077 that’s so good it can be used effectively with pretty much any build. Here are some of the best examples.
Second Heart |
This fully revives you if your health is depleted. With a cooldown of only two minutes, this can make you almost invincible. |
---|---|
Mechatronic Core |
This increases overall damage output against androids, drones, and mechs by a whopping 40% at max rarity. If you’re not a netrunner, this is a great way to make use of your frontal cortex slot. |
Pain Editor |
A flat damage reduction is always a good thing to have for pretty much any build. |
Gorilla Arms |
Even if you don’t plan on getting into melee, the bonus to your Body attribute is well worth attaching these metal fists. |
Reinforced Tendons |
This cyberware allows you to double jump, which is handy for basically all builds, even outside of combat. |
Heal-On-Kill |
Regain health each time you kill an enemy. Incredibly useful for any combat-focused build. |
And there you have it! That’s all of the different cyberware in Cyberpunk 2077, split into whichever build each individual implant best represents. Choose a playstyle from our Cyberpunk 2077 best builds guide, mess around with the implants assigned to it above, and you’ll be the talk of Night City in no time at all.
