If you're planning to build the meta characters in Wuthering Waves, here's everything you need to know about their rankings.
These characters stand out for their adaptability, team-wide synergy and latent potential. Whether you're exploring Solaris or climbing the Tower of Adversity, here are the best four-star resonators to see you through any challenge that comes your way.
9
Taoqi
Taoqi is a versatile Havoc-based support character whose trademark ability is to provide a team-wide shield. Her kit also emphasizes increasing Resonance skill damage for allies through her Outro, making her an excellent companion for any character that relies on her skill for most of their DPS output.
Taoqi also provides additional benefit with DEF buffs to the active wearer of her shield, allowing her team to push through damage that might otherwise prove fatal. The defensive scaling on her Ultimate means Taoqi isn't reliant on high attack stats, allowing you to focus her stats on Energy Regen or Defense. Toaqi does have the disadvantage of slow animations. But if you build a team around Resonance Skills, or want a little more survivability, she's a great addition to your team.
8
Chixia
Chixia is a flashy Fusion DPS character, designed for fast-paced battles and high damage. Chixia thrives on a constant stream of her passive thermobaric orbs, which are required to unleash her powerful DAKA DAKA! shooting condition. After consuming 30 bullets, she unleashes a burst of damage that can easily pierce a boss's health bar.
However, Chixia is not without weaknesses. She lacks inherent defensive tools, making careful positioning and dodging essential to avoid interrupting her DAKA DAKA state. Chixia shines on teams focused on increasing her impressive skill damage. While it takes some time to master her rotation against enemies that can potentially interrupt her, Chixia offers a satisfying mix of speed and power for aggressive players.
7
Aalto
Aalto is a soft-spoken sub-DPS specialist who excels at buffing DPS main characters, especially Aero Resonators. His abilities are a bit complicated to utilize to their maximum potential, but his massive 23 percent Aero DMG Outro buff makes him an ideal choice for any Aero DPS character that follows his rotation. Aalto can also handle significant damage in its own right if built with a focus on damage.
Whether you're a new player or a seasoned veteran, Aalto's high skill cap potential will allow you to maximize your damage potential as long as you can master his positioning.
6
Yangyang
Yangyang shines as a utility-focused support, utilizing her Aero skills to support the team with buffs and crowd control. Her ability to stun and group enemies along with her Skill and Ultimate makes her great for setting up your DPS to take them down.

While her damage output isn't anything to write home about, her value lies in creating allies for success through crowd control and energy generation. Yangyang also has the advantage of requiring very low field time due to her fast Concerto rotation. If you're in need of flexible support, it's hard to go wrong with Yangyang.
5
Baizhi
Baizhi is probably everyone's first healer, so it's very lucky for all of us that she's also universally useful. Her Glacio-based kit provides tons of healing while boosting allies' attack stats, allowing her to slot into almost any team composition in the game. She also has the added bonus of being easy to play, simply requiring basic attacks to build charges for her skill and ultimate.
While it's true that she comes up a little short when compared to her five-star counterpart, Verina, Baizhi will always be able to find a team where she'll be useful.
4
Danjin
If the idea of bringing Dark Souls difficulty into Wuthering Waves appeals to you, Danjin is your girl. She embraces a berserker-like playstyle, sacrificing HP for massive Havoc damage. Her unique approach means you'll need to dodge almost every attack, but if you're willing to balance the risk of her self-inflicted damage, her damage output will be massive.
Built-in healing in her kit offers some reprieve, but make no mistake, you'll often be literally living on the edge. Whether primary or secondary DPS, Danjin's ability to dish out massive damage at the expense of her survivability makes her a niche but powerful option for those willing to master her.
3
Youhuh
Youhu provides a mix of Glacio damage and healing, offering both offensive and support capabilities. By correctly collecting his Auspice charges, Youhu can provide amazing healing to the entire team along with other benefits.
She also currently has the unique ability to provide Coordinated Attack buff, making her inherently valuable. This significant 100% damage increase on the incoming resonator's coordinated attacks is a huge buff and should not be overlooked. Her versatility makes her adaptable to almost any team need, making her even more flexible than Baizhi, albeit harder to play. With a well-timed Resonance Liberation, Youhu can switch between roles seamlessly, providing critical support or burst damage when needed.
2
Mortefi
Mortefi is arguably one of the best four-star characters thanks to his heavy attack synergy, strong off-field damage, and quick concert rotation. His Resonance Liberation boost to heavy attack damage allows him to pair seamlessly with high damage DPS characters like Jiyan.

1
Sanhua
With lightning-fast concert rotations, Sanhua delivers frequent burst damage that allows her to dominate the space as a sub-DPS. She also provides Basic Attack bonuses as her outro skill, allowing her to jump in, deal massive damage and shut down your now buffed DPS.
Sanhua's consistent and powerful damage makes her a great hybrid option if you're looking for a reliable, low-maintenance character. As an added bonus, you also get her for free!
