ARC Raider's new Riven Tides update has broken crossplay

ARC Raiders The major Riven Tides update, which launched on April 28 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC, has seemingly broken the shooter's crossplay feature for the majority of players. After the release of the 1.26.0 update for ARC Raiders this week, players quickly began reporting that the crossplay option had suddenly been disabled and could not be turned back on. Embark has since responded to the issue and confirmed that a fix is in the works.

Ever since the start of the new year, Embark has released a steady stream of new content updates every month, with Riven Tides being the latest release. The April 28th patch also marks the end of ARC Raiders' official roadmap for 2026, at least for now. Embark detailed four updates between January and April, but has yet to reveal what the plans are for the rest of the year. The good news, however, is that the studio has said it intends to support the shooter for up to a decade, meaning there will likely be a new roadmap for the rest of 2026 released in the coming weeks.

ARC Raiders accidentally breaks crossplay with new Riven Tides update

Earlier this week, Embark Studios released the highly anticipated Riven Tides update for ARC Raiders. Not only has it added a brand new map and a terrifying new ARC enemy, but it also seems to have inadvertently broken the game's crossplay feature. Soon after the patch went live, players took to social media like Reddit to question why crossplay wasn't disabled in the game's settings and couldn't be turned back on. This means players cannot match or pair with their friends on other platforms, but Embark has said they are aware of the issue and working on a fix.

In a message to the official ARC Raiders Discord, a community manager said that Embark is currently investigating a crossplay issue after April 28th ARC Raiders patch. The studio said it will report back to players once the issue has been resolved. At the time of writing, more than 24 hours later, there has been no further update on the matter. However, Embark shared a temporary fix for the issue, telling players that they can completely reset their settings to default to enable crossplay again. However, this will in turn reset all other settings, such as controls and accessibility options, so anyone who doesn't want to go through the trouble of adjusting all their other settings again should wait for an official fix.

Crossplay issues aside, the latest update has given fans plenty of new content to check out, including a brand new map known as Riven Tides and a new map state, Beachcombing. The new minor map state allows players to search for buried treasure on the shores of Riven Tides with the new metal detector item, but players will also want to be on high alert as the new ARC Turbine enemy is another deadly addition to the game.

Riven Tides also marks the opening of the next expedition window ARC Raiderswhich has made some big changes this time. While previous expeditions saw players hoard all of their best items and weapons to ensure they met the Stash/Coin value requirement for all five skill points, Embark has now tied the additional points to a new damage challenge. Players now have until Monday, May 11th to rack up 100,000 damage if they want to earn the five extra skill points for the upcoming reset. For reference, that's the equivalent of destroying about 20 bastions.
