2025 has been a pretty hot year for anime, especially when it comes to anime movies. Fans got to see some of the most exciting releases this year, the biggest of which was Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle. However, it did not stop there. Soon after, fans also saw the release Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc. Chainsaw Man is still a small franchise, but it has managed to surpass far larger series. Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc became one of the top performing anime films in the USknock out Jujutsu Kaisen 0the greatest film JJK series has had so far.
It seems that Jujutsu Kaisen is falling behind in the movie department, but its next movie, which could possibly cover the battle Gojo vs Sukunacould allow it to regain the top spots.
Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Has Been Been By Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc
Anime movies have finally shown their true potential in 2025. Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle has broken records, but it is not the only highly successful 2025 anime movie fans have seen in Japan and even abroad.
The other big anime movie this year was none other than the highly anticipated, Chainsaw Man: Reze arc. The film was released on September 19 in Japan and recently on October 24 in the United States. The Reze movie hasn't been out for long in the US, and yet the numbers prove how big a hit it already is.
Really, Chainsaw Man: Reze arc has already made it into the top 5 anime movies in the US, even though it hasn't been a month since its release. At the same time, Jujutsu Kaisen 0 has been kicked out of the top 5 after four years of holding its spot.
This is a tough pill to swallow for Jujutsu Kaisen fans, especially as Chainsaw Man is the second movie to top it this year after the record-breaking Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 1 movie.
Jujutsu Kaisen's next film may regain its top spot
Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is the biggest blockbuster of the series so far, but it's also the only original film the series has received. While JJK was indeed beaten, one thing fans know for sure is that the series has the potential to outdo itself. So far, all recent Jujutsu Kaisen films have simply been re-compilations, including the latest film, Jujutsu Kaisen Executioner.
That means the series has yet to attempt a true new movie, and what comes next could rock the world. If Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 ends with Gojo's suspensionit could very well make for a blockbuster movie for the franchise, and possibly the biggest of all time, and it is Gojo vs Sukuna movie. A movie with such a big battle would undoubtedly be a box office success and would allow Jujutsu Kaisen to regain its place in the top 5, at least.
