Of these samples, Polymer gas is one of the most importantthat's why we're going to show you how to get it to keep running experiments in SAM!
All polymer gas samples in Alter's Last Variable
You can find all Polymer Gas locations separated by terraformed regions below, from Rocky Valley to Waterfall:
The location of the player on the map in each frame shows the location of the sample.
Rocky Valley

Three polymer gas samples are located in Rocky Valley. The first is located right next to the location of the mining outpost in the Metal Deposit field.

The other is inside the Metal Deposit area, near the climbable high cliff.

To get the last one, you actually have to climb the high cliff mentioned earlier. Now take a right and you'll see it at the end of the path, next to a blocked road.
Narrow cliff

Two polymer gas samples are found in the narrow cliff. The first is on the approach road to Narrow Cliff from Rocky Valley.

You need to get to the cliff that leads to the Oasis, but before you reach it, take a right, and you'll find the blocked way. Make sure you have a drill charge to destroy the roots and get the sample.

The second sample is at the far end of the narrow cliff. Go to the enriched metal disposal area and go up; then you should be able to spot a branching path on the left side.

Base

The base area only hosts a polymer gas sample, and it's right next to the Terraformer unit by reaching the end of the spiral path on top of the base.
Remnant Hollow

Similar to the base, Remnants Hollow also has a polymer gas sample to collect, and interestingly, this is also located next to the region's Terraformer unit.

You reach the area by the high cliff in the middle of Rocky Valley, where you would place the Field Lab.

From there, a branching path leads directly to Remnants Hollow and its Terraformers.
Misty Gorge

There is only one polymer gas sample in Misty Gorge, which is on the way to a blocked road.

This is located at the entrance to the region from the bass side.

If you destroy that pile of roots and rocks, you'll be able to climb down to the base.
Volcano

The volcano has a polymer gas sample, and it is outside the mountains, near the edge of the cliffs.

You can reach this place either from Misty Gorge or Rocky Valley. In any case, you must undergo a time lag anomaly.
Waterfall

It is best to enter the waterfall from the Oasis. The region has a polymer gas sample, and it is located at the entrance to a tunnel on the opposite side of the waterfall.
This is the last bit of polymer gas you need to collect. It is worth noting that Oasis and Remote Hill do not host any polymer gas samples.
