The best Rayman game is officially making a comeback

Ubisoft has confirmed that it is remaking arguably the best game in the world Rayman franchise, and it will be released later this year. During the recent PlayStation State of Play, Ubisoft gave fans a first look at Rayman Legends Retoldincluding games that showcased the game's updated graphics and performance. Although the classic Ubisoft platformer series has been dormant for some time, Rayman is finally back with Rayman Legends Retold.

Rayman already has a big 2026, med Rayman's 30th Anniversary Edition launched in February. Aside from this re-release of the original game, Rayman Legends Retold brings back the limbless hero for an enhanced adventure on modern hardware. Although Rayman itself has been sidelined in favor of its spin-off counterpart, Rabbids, over the past few years things are about to change as fans will once again experience one of the greatest platformers of all time when Rayman Legends Retold is launched.

Atari just acquired another studio, this time one that specializes in emulating retro video games.

Rayman Legends Retold remakes the 2013 platformer

Fans got their first glimpse of Rayman Legends Retold during the situation for June 2. During this showcase, Rayman Legends Retold showed the legendary platformer that made the original release so beloved, now looks cleaner than ever before thanks to current gen hardware. In addition, Rayman Legends Retold has been confirmed to feature new content, including new story twists, a brand new world, and an expanded soundtrack. The game will launch on all major platforms on October 1st.

Originally released in 2013, Rayman Legends is a 2D platformer that has co-op for up to four players. In addition to Rayman, playable characters include Globox, Grand Minimus, and Barbara, along with dozens of unlockable alt costumes for those characters. The original also included over 120 playable levels, including several originally from Rayman's originwhich will again be remastered Rayman Legends Retold.

Rayman Legends Retold may not be the only one Rayman the game Ubisoft has cooking at the moment. A new leak from the Xbox Store suggests so Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition is also coming soon, giving players a way to experience the 2011 game in a new way. Although there is no sign of a brand new one Rayman game on the horizon, fans can at least rest easy knowing that Ubisoft hasn't completely abandoned the franchise while enjoying the modernized versions of some of Rayman the series' greatest hits.
