Asus introduces the ROG Xbox Ally X20 OLED Handheld

Considering the ROG Xbox Ally X was named one of the best inventions of 2025, the upgraded ROG Xbox Ally X20 will boast some extra features for fans to use. The ROG Xbox Ally X20 comes with a 1080p OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, along with support for AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and Dolby Vision HDR. The ROG Xbox Ally X20 handheld also comes with TMR joysticks that are designed to resist stick drift and consume less power than their predecessors. The console itself will feature a transparent black chassis to offer users a look inside the device's components, along with a gold finish to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the ROG brand. As of this writing, no pricing or release date information has been made available, so interested customers will have to wait for more information.

The ROG Xbox Ally X20 bundle will also include a pair of ROG XREAL R1 Edition augmented reality (AR) glasses, complete with a matching black and gold finish. Given that the current price of the ROG XREAL R1 is $849.99, the ROG Xbox Ally X20 bundle with both the glasses and the OLED handheld is likely to set consumers back a significant amount of money. By comparison, the ROG Xbox Ally X is still priced at $999 in the US, although the popular Asus handheld has already undergone price changes in Japan.

Apart from the OLED display and the XREAL R1 AR glasses, the ROG Xbox Ally X20 will have similar specifications to the ROG Xbox Ally X system. These specs include an AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor with up to 5.0GHz boosted clock speeds, 24GB of LPDDR5 memory and a 1TB solid-state drive (SSD). In addition, the ROG Xbox Ally X20 will be pre-installed with Windows 11 as the main operating system. The ROG Xbox Ally X20 bundle will also include three months of Xbox Game Pass Premium, a $44.99 value. As Xbox Game Pass continues to grow following a recent price cut, time will tell what changes Microsoft has in store.
