Fans have been clamoring for news of Hogwarts Legacy 2where the past few weeks and months have provided the headwind necessary to fan the flames of every rumor and leak. Now it looks like everything is coming together for a June 2nd announcement, and the compilation of evidence for it Hogwarts Legacy 2 the announcement is hard to ignore.

Sony has announced a permit for June 2, kicking off the show with Marvel's Wolverinebut with plenty of new game reveals, announcements and such during the one-hour showcase. What's more, this is not just pure speculation – the line from Hogwarts Legacy 2 on A to State of Play on B is fairly straightforward.

Why A Hogwarts Legacy 2 Reveal is happening on June 2nd only makes sense
First the disclosure of The legacy of Hogwarts took place at a PlayStation event. While some rumors claim it was a State of Play, it was actually a PlayStation Showcase, but the branding and use of the latter has largely fallen by the wayside since the reveal. The state of games now is basically what PlayStation Showcases used to be, although there are two types of states now. The first are the shorter or focused events, the second are the more rare and larger events. Because this state of June is an hour, focused on Marvel's Wolverines release and beyond, it is clearly positioned as PlayStation's Big Summer Event (branded). Just like Hogwarts Legacy 1 revealed at The Big Summer Event, this is similarly positioned. That doesn't account for another Big Summer Event 2 taking place later this year, but given the movement of other evidence, that feels less likely.

Besides, the rumor mill has already been on this point. Many have claimed Hogwarts Legacy 2 would be revealed at the next State of Play event, with a 50/50 leaker with a spotty track record. Tidux even gets out a vague “SOP – HL2 coming soon” tweet right before the reveal of this event. That doesn't mean the Tidux have inside information, although they might, but it does mean they know how to read the room like others. PlayStation needed a summer event; now it has one. That summer event is lined up for Hogwarts Legacy 2and it still holds.
Avalanche may rage for a Hogwarts Legacy 2 Reveal
The next question becomes: okay, if we accept that a state makes sense for a Hogwarts Legacy 2 reveal why it feels like Hogwarts Legacy 2 reveal where soon? To get even more to the basics, The legacy of Hogwarts 2 definitely happens after the massive sale of The legacy of Hogwarts. Warner Bros has also made sure fans stay aware of it with a little movement here and there, like recently to make sure that The legacy of Hogwarts was 100% free to claim via a limited time deal for anyone who has yet to play it.
Bigger than that is arguably the movement and hiring patterns at Avalanche Software. Live Ops hires differently than rank-and-file devs, in some cases, and Avalanche recently hired a community manager for The legacy of Hogwarts community. Hogwarts Legacy 1 was revealed shortly after a community manager was hired for it back in 2020, so this might just be history repeating itself. After all, there have been plenty of Avalanche Software job postings before then, apparently hiring for Hogwarts Legacy 2 developers, and all patterns make sense.

Yes, there is no evidence for that Hogwarts Legacy 2 will happen in this mode; but there is ample evidence to connect two important facts. Yes, Hogwarts Legacy 2 is most likely under development and has been for several years. Yes, a big event makes sense for its reveal, and State of Play makes more sense over Summer Game Fest or the Xbox Games Showcase because of the story. These two are facts that are easily connected. Yes, everyone should deal with hype and be skeptical of all claims, including this one, but it all makes sense to one Hogwarts Legacy 2 reveal at the upcoming State of Play event. Excitement mixed with caution is the energy that all Harry Potter RPG fans should have, but they have to manage expectations.
In short, there is a strong industry expectation for it Hogwarts Legacy 2 is in active development and will be revealed sometime in the not too distant future. There is a reasonable window around the State of Play, and the movement around the two at the same time makes perfect sense. There's no confirmation that this announcement is coming, but it feels like it's up in the air.
