After the launch of the new Raid for the Legends multiplayer mode in Ghost of YoteiSucker Punch drops some surprising news about future updates to this side of the game. Since its launch in October 2025, Ghost of Yotei has already seen plenty of success, with Sucker Punch continuing to push the experience forward through new updates and minor content additions for players to enjoy as they explore the Hokkaido region of Japan.
As players continue to wait for potential DLC news, Sucker Punch delivered on their expectations Ghost of Yotei Legends multiplayer experience, a set of free-to-play game modes that add two- and four-player co-op modes. Fans will likely remember a similar experience to Ghost of Tsushima, though the updated mode in this version features story-driven missions that pit players against demonic versions of the Yotei Six enemies. There is also the classic Survival mode where 4 players work together to overcome increasingly difficult waves of enemies across 4 unique maps. However, the true endgame experience recently launched, bringing a new Raid mission for players to check out.

Ghost of Yotei Wolf Petting is actually a lot weirder than you realize
The Ghost of Yotei star reveals that the process of animating the game's wolf patting scene was significantly weirder than many players might assume.
Ghost of Yotei Legends is releasing its last major update
After the launch of Raid for Ghost of Yotei Legends back in April, lead designer Darren Bridges took some time to reflect on the creation. In the end, the team at Sucker Punch described the mode as a kind of escape room that actively tried to kill the players. Although designed to be a challenging experience, the studio thought that it was ultimately designed for multiple audiences who might not be able to play it for hours, so it baked in some improvements, like the ability to jump right back to the boss when players have made it through the puzzles and are either running out of time, struggling, or people have to leave.

While Sucker Punch has enjoyed watching people play and experience Raiden, including watching Ghost of Yotei players battle the Demon Dragon, Bridges concludes the blog post by admitting that the Raid update was the “last major planned update for Legends” and that it finally ends the story of the Yotei Six in that mode. While it sounds like Sucker Punch could do with major additions, the extent of that comment isn't really known. It's possible that minor patches may still be coming to help balance or fix issues, but reading Bridges' comment it seems like there won't be any additional content.
If that's really the case, it's really a little surprising Ghost of Tsushimas Legends multiplayer mode received tons of new content long after the mode's original launch. In fact, Ghost of Tsushima Legends added more maps and game modes like Rivals the following year after the game's launch and also alongside the Iki Island and Director's Cut launches.

It's possible that Sucker Punch doesn't consider maps a “major update,” but it's not entirely clear what this means going forward. Either way, players are expecting some kind of DLC similar to the Iki Island expansion that eventually arrived Ghost of Tsushima. It's possible that new content could launch alongside such an expansion, but for now, fans will have to continue to wait for a potential official reveal from Sucker Punch or Sony.
