Swordsmen are some of the most common fighters found in the world of One Pieceand they all have powerful blades and tremendous abilities. In the last tale of One Pieceonly the elite swordsmen have what it takes to survive in a very turbulent world, and all are avid users of Haki. That said, not all swordsmen have a similar strength. Some have trained their Haki by surviving the most intense battles and reaching the very pinnacle of strength, standing out far more than others in the process.

Given its fierce setting, it's little surprise that talented swordsmen populate One Piece. Here are the strongest of the lot.

Fujitora

• Position: Admiral of the Navy

• Haki Types: Observation, Arming

Fujitora is one of the most powerful swordsmen in the Final Saga of One Piece. He is unique in the sense that he combines his Devil Fruit power brilliantly with his swordplay. Fujitora wields one of the 12 Supreme Great Swords, called the Yakuza Kasen, and this sword is often charged with the devil fruit power of Zushi Zushi no Mi. This devil fruit allows Fujitora to manipulate gravity himself, meaning his sword essentially becomes a gravity blade that, combined with his incredible Haki, allows him to utilize crushing abilities.

Fujitora's Haki is impressive. He can harness two powers at once. While his observation Haki is very refinedhis Armament Haki is nothing to scoff at either. Among the top swordsmen, Fujitora likely has the weakest Haki of all.

Garling Figarland

• Haki Types: Observation, Armament, Conqueror (supposed)

Garling Figarland is one of the Five Elders and quite easily one of the most overpowered characters in the Final Saga of One Piece. He is known as a Champion of God Valley, having been the one who killed Rocks. Since the God Valley Incident, he has grown tremendously in terms of strength, and it comes as no surprise that he uses all types of Haki.

The true extent of his Haki remains to be seen, but Eiichiro Oda himself stated that Garling is very powerful, given that he shares a connection with Imu. His Haki must be at least on par with the other elders, making him one of the strongest users of this power among the swordsmen in the One Piece world.

Ethan Baron V. Nusjuro

• Position: Five elders

• Haki Types: Observation, Armament, Conqueror

Nusjuro is one of the members of the five elders and certainly an elite swordsman in the One Piece world. He wields the legendary Supreme Great Sword, Shodai Kitetsu, which is also considered cursed. Nusjuro is a very skilled user of Haki, which was evident from his short time in Egghead.

His Observation Haki is highly refined, but he can also channel extremely high levels of Conqueror's Haki, as well as Armament Haki. The full potential of his Haki is still unknown, but the little he has shown has already done more than enough to solidify his position as one of the strongest Haki users among the swordsmen in the One Piece world still alive.

Shamrock Figarland

• Position: Holy Knights Captain

• Haki Types: Observation, Armament, Conqueror

Shamrock Figarland is incredibly skilled as a fighter, and his full abilities are still unknown at this time, but at least he is said to rival Shanks in terms of skill and ability. Shamrock certainly has access to all three types of Haki, just like his brother.

He also shares a pact with Imu that grants him immortality, regeneration, as well as superhuman strength. All of these things in consideration make Shamrock one of the most powerful individuals in the One Piece world when it comes to handling Haki. It's only a matter of time before the true extent of his abilities will finally be revealed.

Dracule Mihawk

• Position: Cross Guild Commander

• Haki Types: Observation, Armament, Conqueror (supposed)

The greatest swordsman in the world One PieceDracule Mihawk is an incredibly powerful individual who wields one of the 12 supreme swords, the Kokuto Yoru. Mihawk doesn't have many Haki feats to his name, but his status as the strongest swordsman alone makes him a famous user of this skill.

Without powerful Haki, Mihawk would never have become the strongest swordsman or battled the likes of Red-haired Shanks long ago. In the final saga, Oda will have many opportunities to bring out the full abilities of Dracule Mihawk, and fans can't wait to see what he can do in battle.

Silver's Rayleigh

• Position: Roger Pirates first mate

• Haki Types: Observation, Armament, Conqueror

Silvers Rayleigh is a former member of the Roger Pirates and an incredibly powerful user of Haki. Rayleigh has Haki of all three types and is a master of all these arts. His Conqueror's Haki has advanced to a very high level, so much so that his skill is comparable to that of a Yonko. In his prime, he could even have defeated the likes of Blackbeard. It really shows the level he was at when he was at the top of his game.

Arguably, among the strongest swordsmen in the One Piece world, Rayleigh has one of the most powerful Haki, and the fact that he was even able to teach it to Luffy means that his mastery over it is incredibly refined.

Shanks

• Position: Yonko

• Haki Types: Observation, Armament, Conqueror

Shanks is one of the most powerful blade wielders in the world One Pieceand while Dracule Mihawk surpasses him in swordsmanship, Shanks's Haki is better overall. Shanks has the most refined Haki in the world of One Piece that no one else has shown, not even the Pirate King.

Shank's Haki is strong enough to make even an Admiral tremble, and more than that, it is said that the total potential of his Haki rivals that of Joy Boy self. Shanks is arguably one of the most powerful Haki users in the final saga, who can only be beaten by a handful.

Nerona Imu

• Haki Types: Observation, Armament, Conqueror

The King of the World, Nerona Imu, is one of the most powerful Devil Fruit users in the world of One Piece, and with his powers, he can even produce a sword called the Blade of Judgment: Nemesis. This blade is made of black flames and is incredibly powerful. Imu uses it with great skill.

Imu doesn't have the best sword skills in the world One Piececonsidering that he is not refined in the art of swordplay. But when it comes to applying Haki to the blade, no one will do it better than Imu, as he has the best Haki in the entire series at the moment. Imus' Haki rivals Joy Boy's and has overwhelming power, likely greater than Shank's. It's only a matter of time before Oda unleashes his full powers and shows what his Haki is truly capable of in battle when he's all serious.
