Originally released on January 16, 2020, it's hard to believe Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot still getting major DLC six years later to the day. The game's latest Dragon Ball DAIMA DLC, Adventure through the demon kingdom part 2 finishes the rest Dragon Ball DAIMAs story. The expansion pack has been very faithful to the anime thus far, but Part 2 makes some interesting additions to the anime's story, including both a new ending and new information about Super Saiyan 4 Goku.
5 Dragon Ball Super Characters Stronger Than Ultra Instinct Goku
As of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, Ultra Instinct Goku is weaker than his rival, his son, and even the series' next main villain.
IN Dragon Ball DAIMA Episode 20, Goku strongly hints that he unlocked Super Saiyan 4 after his fight with Kid Buu at the end of Dragon Ball Z. Goku says, “Buu was really strong, so I trained a lot after fighting him. I wasn't sure if it would work though.” The only “it” that Goku could realistically be referring to here is Super Saiyan 4 himself, though Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot has directly retconned this information with his new post-credits scene. Goku didn't become Super Saiyan 4 for the first time until Neva helped him.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot confirms that Goku didn't unlock Super Saiyan 4 until Dragon Ball DAIMA's final battle
IN Dragon Ball Z: Kakarots new final cutscene for its Dragon Ball DAIMA DLC, Goku tells Panzy, “This might sound crazy, but I JUST got used to being small. I mean, I made it to Super Saiyan 4 and all…” Goku's new dialogue can only mean that he never became Super Saiyan 4 before his fight with Gomah, which recontextualizes his phrasing in Dragon Ball DAIMA anime. Goku being unsure about Super Saiyan 4 working is no longer about it being strong enough to stop Gomah, but about him being powerful enough to trigger the form at all.
Dragon Ball Officially Reveals The 21 Most Popular Characters In The Franchise
As Dragon Ball The One enters its final round, only 21 of 212 characters remain.
This makes more sense with how Dragon Ball handles signature transformations. While it's not uncommon for Saiyans to unlock Super Saiyan forms off-screen (actually, most SSJ transformations were actually unlocked off-screen), the large forms always occur for the first time on-screen. Goku and Gohan unlock Super Saiyan 1 and Super Saiyan 2 respectively for the first time during their final battles with Frieza and Cell. Dragon Ball GT makes a big show of Goku unlocking that form of Super Saiyan 4.
While Super Saiyan Blue is unlocked off-screen Resurrection FGoku unleashes Super Saiyan God and Ultra Instinct for the first time in front of an audience. Making it clear that Goku only became Super Saiyan 4 with Neva's help raises the stakes Dragon Ball DAIMAs final battle and gives the transformation more gravitas than it just being something Goku took advantage of himself. That said, the fact that Goku can only casually unleash Super Saiyan 4 after becoming an adult again poses some problems.
A Dragon Ball Super Remake will have to unite Super Saiyan 4 Goku in a new Battle of Gods Saga
Provided Dragon Ball Super will return in 2026 with an official anime remake, the series will have to rewrite large parts of Battle of Gods story arc. IN Dragon Ball Z: Battle of GodsGoku explicitly tells Beerus that Super Saiyan 3 is his absolute strongest form. Likewise, a rage-boosted Vegeta only becomes Super Saiyan 2 after Beerus beats Bulma. These two events completely contradict each other Dragon Ball DAIMAs story where Goku and Vegeta both have access to their own versions of Super Saiyan 4 and Super Saiyan 3.
Dragon Ball: 7 Strongest Saiyan Techniques
Saiyans don't fight in battle. These techniques can take out almost anyone.
About one Dragon Ball Super remake releases, Battle of Gods will be a test to see if DBS and Dragon Ball DAIMA are set in the same continuity. If Goku fights Beerus and just goes Super Saiyan 3, this will confirm it Dragon Ball DAIMA actually takes place in an alternate continuity to Dragon Ball Super. This would greatly muddy up the series' timeline and potentially place Dragon Ball Super to Dragon Ball GT levels of being non-canon, which Akira Toriyama only wrote outlines for Superwhile he personally wrote Dragon Ball DAIMA self.
