MTG's main designer claims that Spider-Man and Avatar did not delay Lorwyn eclipse

Magic: The collection has knocked it out of the park with its universe beyond sets. Lord of the Rings and Spider-Man sets have been good, but they are nothing compared to the latest final fantasy, which sold more cards in two days than Lotr ever did. It definitely earns the big money.

Although the universe beyond sets is popular, long-lasting MTG fans are worried that the magicians in the coast can lean too heavy against them and neglect university sets. While the main designer, Mark Rosewater has specifically said that this is not the case, some fans have a hard time believing in it.

Magic: The collection started my TCG -Vana with Chocobos and Final Fantasy

I thought magic: The collection had nothing left for me, but Siren Call of the Chocobo and the Final Fantasy set proved something else. Wark.

Part of the controversy comes from the perceived delay of Lorwyn. The return to the beloved attitude of Lorwyn was originally revealed to follow this summer's Spider-Man, with many, provided that it would be the final set of 2025. But the latter disclosure of Avatar: The last Airbender made many feel as if the universe had been pushing a long expected return to Lorwyn back next year.

MTG's Lorwyn Eclipsed was not delayed to accommodate Spider-Man and Avatar sets

On his blog, Rosewater was asked why some sets are delayed to accommodate others. Specifically, why Lorwyn was darkened to give way to Avatar, but the same was not done for Spider-Man, a smaller set that has been expanded from an originally even smaller, Assassin's Creed-style edition, to upgrade the short number. Rosewater responded and said that Lorwyn was technically not delayed for another set, it was simply a change in the roll -out strategy at MTG.

“Lorwyn was delayed just because we slowed down the number of sets per year,” he explained. “There were 8 in line and we cut from 9 down to 7, so it became the first set next year. It was never moved out of its #8 position.”

If the edge of eternity does not convince you to run more of this kind of card in your magic: The Gathering Commander Deck, I don't know what's coming

To blast countries in magic: The collection feels more acceptable now than ever before.

Wizards of the Coast plans its release schedule in advance, but it always changes because of the time it takes for works of art, and there is also balancing to remember. This means that we would originally see Spider-Man, Avatar and Lorwyn, all in 2025 are launched. The change to release seven sets per year instead means that it is now the first set of 2026, pending any unannounced January-remaster's sets, such as this year's Innistradmaster.

It is understandable to believe that the magicians in the coast would benefit the universe in addition to sets, as they are extremely popular and it makes a lot of money. But it has repeatedly noted that they will never replace in university sets, because that is what MTG is built on. Although this is the case, society was quite miffed when it was announced that the universe in addition to crossover sets with final fantasy and spider-man will be legal in the standard format, and we will probably not see complaints about crossover sets will stay soon.
