Devfrog has worked closely with fans to create a sweet and cozy world that is full of fun activities to do and unique places to explore.
In an interview with Game Rant, Devfrog discussed the development trip over the past two years. Devfrog also spoke in detail about some of the largest features in FrogIncluding loved cozy activities such as cooking, fishing and exploration, everyone worked for an open game loop for players to enjoy.
FROG Iceland's biggest gaming features
As for the core pillars in FrogDevfrog told us that there were four main game methods: attract and take care of frogs, gather gifts, explore secrets and have open freedom. There are a variety of frogs that have their own wishes, gifts can lead to new areas and more, explore Frog Encourages lots of activities, and there is no time limit for players. As Devfrog described the cozy game,
- To attract and take care of frogs: “As the island's caretaker, you will be commissioned to get the frogs at home. You will create bug cans to attract them and place cute and cozy toys to keep them relaxed. Each frog has its own toy and food preferences, so part of the fun is to discover the perfect combination to find out what does what do what is doing what is doing what makes it like
- Collect gifts: “Happy frogs will show their gratitude by leaving behind small symbols.
- Exploration and secrets: “In addition to your caretakers, Frog Island is full of areas to explore and secrets to reveal. You can try agriculture, discover new recipes in the kitchen, catch fish or even catch rare bugs. And yes, you can even play.”
- Open Freedom: “There is also no pressure to complete any real goals within any time frame, as the game is very open. You are stranded on this island after all! Whether you want to spend your days fishing at the dust, decorating your island or simply checking your frogs, the choice is yours.”
Choose the right art style and music
Choosing the right style of art was very important for Devfrog because it helped to make the world of Frog Feel warm and welcoming. When it comes to video game development, it is important to set the right style. A sweet and cozy game requires a sweet and cozy design, and its pictures go a long way to deliver that design. Devfrog worked hard to produce a detailed hand -drawn world:
“A big breakthrough was to nail the art style. Early on, I struggled to balance the hand -drawn aesthetics with my own technical limitations of art and game development. When I finally found the right balance, it felt like the game really came to life. Even today I am still to improve my art skills and refinement of my style with every sprite.
The overall inspiration for the game came from Neko Atsume, Animal Crossingand Tsuki Odyssey, And the developer's love for these titles can clearly be seen in the game's overall style and music choices. Choosing the right music was also something that Devfrog wanted to get right. As Devfrog explained,
“I think music is one of, if not the most important aspects of a game. It can really reinforce emotions and emotions tenfold, which is something I wanted to convey through the music on Frog Island. I hope that it is used to use instruments such as soft padded pianos and a natural atmosphere will allow players to immerse themselves in the game.”
The combination of the hand -drawn art style and the soothing music helps to create an engrossing gaming experience that is relaxing and very cozy.
