The main characters in Dragon Ball franchise are incredibly powerful and capable warriors who owe much of their strength and reputation to their incredible techniques. Over the years, notable fighters like Goku and Vegeta have created some of the best techniques and attacks ever seen in the series.

But someone who is definitely on par with them in this regard is none other than everyone's favorite Namekian, Piccolo. Due to his many years as one of Universe 7's greatest warriors, Piccolo has created many powerful techniques for the world of Dragon Ballso let's go over the best tools in his arsenal.

Masenko was originally Piccolo's beam attack

Kid Gohan's signature

Masenko is the signature attack that Gohan used in his youth, often using it against some of the strongest enemies in the early Dragon Ball Z. For many, this was essentially seen as Gohan's answer to Goku's Kamehameha or Vegeta's Galick Gun, and while it became synonymous with the young Saiyan, the attack is originally Piccolo's.

Debuts in the original Dragon Ball series, Masenko was used by Piccolo to damage his enemies quite a bit. Essentially, the user brings their hands up to their forehead to charge a yellow beam of light that they push outwards, making it an iconic and destructive attack in one's hands.

Piccolo's Gigantification makes him even more impressive

A neat trick for giant enemies

While this is not an attack like the others, it is still a very useful technique that Piccolo can use due to his unique Namekian physiology. As the name suggests, this technique allows Piccolo to grow exponentially in size, which is a pretty neat trick when facing powerful villains of a similar size.

However, in the Super Hero arc, Piccolo admits that the overall power benefits of his giant form aren't really significant, as he remains around the same power level as before. However, the real advantage here is that this form increases his physical strength quite a bit and makes his regular attacks much larger, which could be seen when he was holding back Cell Max.

The Hellzone grenade is the ultimate trap

A tactical technique

Although an incredibly powerful warrior, Piccolo's true strength shines as a tactician, as he has often used his incredible intellect to formulate plans on the spot. A good example of this was when he used his amazing Hellzone Grenade against Android 17, showing how unorthodox of a fighter he can be.

Essentially, this technique sees Piccolo fire off many individual balls of Ki which then proceed to surround his opponent instead of hitting them head on. By completely surrounding his enemy, Piccolo leaves them no room to escape, eventually landing every single one of these shots on them, dealing incredible damage.

The light grenade is an incredibly powerful single shot

A powerful concussion

Where the Hellzone Grenade is a tactical trap to ensure his opponent cannot escape, the Light Grenade is a single-shot technique that has tons of Piccolo's energy packed into it. Concentrating all of his Ki into a single point, he fires an attack that trades the penetrating power of his signature attack for pure offensive power, similar to the Big Bang Attack.

Although this attack failed against Cell when Piccolo initially used it, he would try it once more in the Moro arc. However, this variant of the technique was thousands of times stronger, to the point that if it worked, it would have killed Piccolo as well, as it consumed all of his energy.

The Special Beam Cannon is Piccolo's greatest creation

Throughout Dragon Ball franchise, there have been many attacks that have a narrow, focused beam designed to penetrate its target. However, none are on the same level as the legendary Special Beam Cannon, which contends to be the most powerful attack ever used by a mortal in the franchise.

Focusing all of the user's Ki into a single point in their fingers, they then fire a sharp beam of energy that has so much penetrating power behind it that it can go through almost anything it is used against, provided it is fully charged. Although the strongest version we've seen is the one used by the Gohan Beast, it's still Piccolo's ultimate attack which is made even stronger in his Orange Piccolo form.
