Important takeaways
- Xbox Game Pass could use more titles in October besides Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.
- Neva and A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead are potential additions to Xbox Game Pass for October.
- Silent Hill: HD Collection can also be a good consolation for Xbox players who miss Silent Hill 2 Remake.
September has been a pretty good month so far Xbox Game Passmakes a good way to make up for some of the service's slower summer months. Age of Mythology: Retold and Star Trucker started the month well, Frostpunk 2 has just delivered another quality strategy experience, and Ara: History Untold is just a few days away for PC Game Pass subscribers. However, it is unclear whether Xbox Game Pass will be able to sustain this momentum for October.
Xbox Game Pass only has one game confirmed for October 2024. Although that one game is the absolute spectacle Call of Duty: Black Ops 6even the biggest games can't support a full month of Xbox Game Pass alone. Game Pass needs a few more titles this October, especially when PlayStation has quite a few console exclusives waiting in the wings this coming month.
Neva
Release date: October 15
The long awaited next match from Pig' Nomada Studio, Neva will launch on October 15th, and it would make for an impressive launch title for Xbox Game Pass. Neva takes Pig' breathtaking watercolor art style and paints it over another emotional story, this time revolving around a woman and her deep, lifelong bond with a magical wolf. Neva looks set to be one of the most exciting indie releases this October, and it could find an even stronger Day 1 audience with Game Pass.
A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead
Release date: October 17
Being just a few short weeks away from October also means that it's only a few weeks until Spooky Season officially begins, and Xbox Game Pass could use some horror titles in its line-up. A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead will be released on October 17, delivering a first-person horror experience based on the titular Hollywood film series. IN The way forwardplayers must slowly make their way through different environments and be careful to avoid making any noise, as the moment they do so they will be swarmed by angels of death.
[REDACTED]
Release date: October 31
A spinoff of the 2022 sci-fi horror game The Callisto Protocol, [REDACTED] is an isometric villainous shooter that sees players assume the role of a Black Iron prison guard caught in the middle of a zombie outbreak. [REDACTED] boasts a vivid graphic novel-like art style, a 180bpm “arcade-punk” soundtrack, and tons of build variety. For those who have had their fill Hades 2s early access period but still want to scratch that fast-paced rogue-like itch, [REDACTED] might be the next best thing, and it would be great to see it on Xbox Game Pass in October.
Silent Hill: HD Collection
Available now
One of the biggest releases in October 2024 is Bloober Teams Silent Hill 2 Remake. Unfortunately, Silent Hill 2 Remake is only coming to PC and PlayStation 5 at launch, meaning Xbox players are missing out on what could be the best horror game this Halloween. To try and soften this blow, Xbox Game Pass can add Silent Hill: HD Collection in October, which would give Xbox users the chance to play through Silent Hill 2 and 3. Of course Silent Hill: HD Collection is far from the best way to play these games due to its divisive voice acting and graphics, but it's the only option for Silent Hill fans on Xbox.
