What is Marvel Rivals Doom Match Mode?

Basically, Doom is Match a free-for-all deathmatch where players compete to get 16 final hits. Everyone is free to choose any Marvel Rivals character they want, and there are no teams – all players are free play, so expect rampant chaos in every match.

The lobby is divided into two brackets with six players each. The top half are the match winners, while the bottom half are the losers. The competition for sixth place is likely to be the fiercest, but if you're already in the top five, you should be fine for the rest of the match (assuming you can maintain your position).

The Doom Match mode features the Sanctum Sanctorum map, a veritable maze of halls, corridors and portals leading in and out of Doctor Strange's home. This map can be a bit confusing, but it has room for all heroes to excel. Learn the map, know where to play and do your best!

Doom Match can be considered an arcade mode like Conquest (the TDM mode). In addition to being in the game for fun, it is a good place to warm up. If you play Doom Match via the matchmaking queue, you will eventually find yourself in the regular race to reach the top six spots. But if you queue for a Doom Match via the exercise menuwill you end up in one hour-long lobby without rules. From here you can practice as much as you want without worrying about winning or losing.

How to trigger portals in Marvel Rivals Doom Match

IN Marvel Rivals Season 1, players are tasked with triggering portals while in a Doom Match. To do this, find and interact with the purple cracks scattered across the map. You can usually find these on the patio. Just trigger them until the mission is complete. This objective can reappear as part of events or regular daily quests, so it's best that players know how to do this to get a little extra Marvel Rivals currencies such as grids and units.

Triggering these portals will only count if you are playing a Doom Match via the Change Mode menu, not the one in the practice menu.
