The main Castlevania franchise has been dormant for quite some time, with Konami instead focusing on partnering with indie studios to keep the brand alive. If Konami were to bring the series back for another 2D entry, taking inspiration from Metroid Dread, or even recruiting Mercury Steam to develop an original title for them would be perhaps the most exciting news they could reveal.
