TUNIS: More than half of the mainly migrants, refugees and asylum seekers in sub-Saharan Tunisia are currently living in “inadequate conditions”, an indigenous rights group said on Tuesday. In its latest study on migration, the Tunisian Forum for Economic and Social Rights (FTDES) found that “over half” of migrants in Tunisia lived “on the streets, in public parks, camps and outdoor areas.” Tunisia is an important departure point for irregular migrants who try to cross the Mediterranean sea in search of a better life in Europe.
