Sony recently announced that the PS3 and PS Vita online stores will be shut down over the course of next year. As a result PlayStation users will lose digital access to a host of classic PS1 games that are very expensive to purchase physically. Pending this shutdown, there are about 20 games worth picking up now to avoid paying ridiculous prices for an original PlayStation version.
PS3 and PS Vita store closures will begin in August 2026 in Mexico, Honduras, and Nicaragua, while additional countries in Latin America and the Middle East will see storefronts close at the end of 2026 before closing worldwide in July 2027. Gamers who want to purchase any of these titles, rather than the next store, before next time are good to go. year.
