April 2026 has been a particularly busy month when it comes to free Steam game giveaways. A variety of games representing a variety of genres have been given away on Steam, meaning anyone quick enough to get their hands on the games has been able to expand their collection quite a bit, all for free. Right now we seem to be on top of Steam's free games, with five free games currently available for purchase.

Free Steam Games Available Right Now
The current Steam freebies consist of four games and a DLC pack for one paid game. On the free-to-play front, Steam users have until April 19th at 12pm CST to grab Stickman killing zombiewhile NineHells and Uncanny Tales: Cold Road is free until April 20 at the same time. Legend of Keepers: Career of a Dungeon Master is free on Steam until April 23rd at 12pm CST, and finally the Sanity Skin Pack for Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss is free until April 30th at 12pm CST. As long as you claim the items within their free giveaway window, you keep access to them forever.
The horror genre is the most well-represented when it comes to the latest batch of free Steam games. Stickman killing zombie is a simple action game where players take on the role of a three-dimensional stick figure as they battle hordes of zombies. NineHells is a psychological horror game where players travel through hell, and Uncanny Tales: Cold Road is an episodic horror game where the horror comes from real people and situations as opposed to the supernatural that we see in many other horror projects. And finally, the Sanity Skin Pack gives players more customization options for Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyssa horror game where players investigate an underwater mining facility in the Pacific Ocean.
Legend of Keepers: Career of a Dungeon Manager is the only current free Steam game that isn't at least horror-adjacent. Described as a roguelite take on Dungeon Defenderwhere players must protect dungeons from would-be heroes. It has been well received by Steam users, with a “Very Positive” rating based on recent reviews and a “Mostly Positive” rating based on overall reviews.
