In a world full of hunters who continue to awaken immense powers, Jinwoo has a rough start as a weak hunter, but after the events of the Double Dungeon arc, he gains the power of the system, allowing him to level up and grow in power. So far, Jinwoo's story has been brought to life in the anime with Season 1 in 2024 and Season 2 in 2025. But there is still much to explore in Solo Leveling. While Solo Leveling Season 3 is basically confirmed, another project could also be on the way, and this one could be even bigger.

Through an investment report, it was revealed after over a year of waiting that Solo Leveling Season 3 is in production. That announcement showed that the company is actively investing in the third installment of the anime. While an official statement on the season's ongoing production has yet to be given, this new report basically seals the deal for the series.
We are all excited about Sung Jinwoo's return in Solo Leveling Season 3, but it must be said that the series may still have one more surprise for fans. While we all want to see the third season, we can't ignore the possibility of a Solo Leveling movie coming as well. Currently, despite the reveal of the third anime installment, leaks still suggest that a Solo Leveling movie is in the works. In fact, some claims suggest that the film and the third season come hand in hand and are being worked on together. That said, the most likely possibility is that the movie itself could be what's called a third season, as it simply picks up where Season 2 left off, in typical Demon Slayer fashion.

In it, it was clearly shown that the Studio is planning to make a Solo Leveling movie. Interest in this film was particularly high due to the huge success of Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle. While nothing has been confirmed yet, we'll have to wait for an official statement from either the studio or Crunchyroll, and now is the time to stay tuned, as big reveals have been hinted at in the coming weeks and months.

But if a movie is what's in the books for Solo Leveling, the potential of the series could multiply. Cinema premieres are simply far more impactful, especially these days, as evidenced by shows like Demon Slayer and Chainsaw Man. Cinema premieres create hype like no TV series, and their revenue potential makes them worth pursuing.
A-1 Pictures themselves have previously stated that they would like to replicate the success of Infinity Castle with Solo Leveling. Arcs like Return to the Double Dungeon, which follows Jeju Island, have the potential to become sensations if adapted to the quality of the film. Solo Leveling arcs are extremely suited to this type of customization, being heavy on action and having a fast-paced story. The potential release date for the upcoming Solo Leveling projects
At the moment it is the only confirmed project we have Solo Leveling Season 3. An actual release date has yet to be provided. That said, the report via D&C Media has revealed a target to release the installment in either 2027 or 2028, giving a time estimate of one to two years. This isn't set in stone, but there's no reason for the series to take any longer than that.
For the Solo Leveling movie, things are even less clear on the release date. In the committee's report, the studio wanted to release it in 2026. But it was said to be in pre-production, with an opening for a 2027 release. Currently, a 2026 release is impossible. Instead, it could drop in 2027, and if that's indeed the project that D&C Media labeled “Season 3,” then things start to make even more sense.
