Solo Leveling is a South Korean IP that tells the story of Sung Jinwoo, a rather weak hunter whose life changes when he enters the Double Dungeon and proves himself worthy of the power of the system. Through this system, Jinwoo becomes the only individual who can level up and grow in strength. The web novel and manhwa for this story are incredibly popular, but what popularized it globally was the TV anime, which was officially released in January 2024.
With Anime Expo 2026 around the corner, new information can be revealed about the upcoming animated project of Solo Leveling. Currently, the main focus of the event is Solo Leveling: Karmaa video game that officially explores the lessons of the world Solo Leveling with exciting gameplay and never-before-seen battles.
Solo Leveling is officially getting its own stage at Anime Expo 2026
When Solo Leveling first released on July 25, 2016, as a web novel by South Korean creator Chugong, it wasn't nearly as popular as it is today. Thanks to the quality of the story, the series continued to gain immense popularity, and on March 4, 2018, a Manhwa was released by Redice Studio, adding more body to the story with original designs and eye-catching drawings. Then, in 2024, the series would finally be animated by Aniplex and A-1 Pictures. In 2025, Solo Leveling returned with a second season. Unfortunately, information about the future of the franchise has become scarce since then.
With that being said, now comes a major anime event in the form of Anime Expo 2026. Anime Expo is a massive anime convention taking place in Los Angeles, California, and this year it will take place between July 2nd and July 5th, 2026. Solo Leveling will have its own stage set to take place on the last day of Solo Leveling on July 5th. Karma X account, and it was also stated to expect it between 2:30 and 3:20 JST time. Leading up to this event, many big names from Solo Leveling will be involved. Aleks Le, Sung Jinwoo's English voice actor; June Sung Kim, executive producer; and Jacki Jing, event host, will be in attendance.
For this event, a large Q&A will be held where fans can submit questions to be answered on the day of the event. While this is incredibly exciting, what we're especially excited for are the revelations about the upcoming animated projects for the franchise.

On June 19, 2026, the official account of Solo Leveling: Karma stated that they will reveal something big about Solo Levelingso the opportunity is there for sure. This is independent of the Karma game, so we're excited to see what it might be.

2026 and 2027 will be exciting for the Solo Leveling Franchise
2026 might not offer much Solo Leveling content so far, but that may change soon when we finally get Karma's release date. Solo Leveling: Karma is not your average game, and what makes it stand out aside from being a step up in terms of graphics and gameplay compared to others Solo Leveling game, is the exploration of new lore never before seen in either Manhwa or web novel. The 27-year war of the monarchs has long been a mystery, and finally it will be explored to its bottom in the new game.
On top of karma, Solo Leveling: Ragnarok's The manhwa may also return in 2026, which would be great to see after the long hiatus. 2027 is set to be even more exciting, with recent reports from D&C Media indicating that Solo Leveling Season 3 may finally be released. The possibility of a Solo Leveling movie also remains a possibility, and either way, we absolutely can't wait to see what's next for this franchise.
