Solo Leveling is a phenomenal action anime series by Aniplex and A-1 Pictures that made its debut in January 2024. Although its TV anime is what really popularized it, the series also exists under various forms of media. Solo Leveling started running as a web novel by author Chugong, and then, due to its immense popularity and amazing quality, it ended up becoming a manhwa. Along with the anime, they complete the holy trinity Solo Leveling. But fans should not forget the great video game franchise known as Solo Leveling: Arise.
Solo Leveling: Arise is always adding new and exciting content, and the story has just teased Jinwoo's biggest upcoming battle, which is against the Three Monarchs. The newly revealed teaser of May 12, 2026 is incredibly exciting and fans can't wait for this fight to get more highlights.
Solo Leveling: Arise teases Sung Jinwoo's legendary battle against the Monarchs in a new teaser
Solo Leveling: Arise is a popular RPG-style video game by Netmarble Studio. It adapts the story of Solo Leveling's manhwa into a mobile and PC video game. This game made its debut in 2024, and the success of the TV anime has only made it more popular by bringing in new players who want to explore the world in a variety of ways. Solo Leveling: Arise is at its peak right now, and as such, new content is always around the corner. The latest content released for this video game officially arrived on May 12, 2026, in the form of a new teaser trailer from Netmarble. The teaser trailer reveals Jinwoo's next big battle in the game, where he confronts the Three Monarchs. In the manhwa, this battle takes place during the Monarchs War arc, which takes place between chapter 150 and chapter 166 and is widely considered to be one of the best arcs in the entire series.
The recently revealed teaser trailer was not a fully animated PV. Instead, it took the panels of the manhwa and turned them into a dynamic slideshow with some voice acting and exciting OST on top. The PV introduces the three main enemies, which are:
-
Herring, King of Snow Folk and Monarch of Frost
-
Rakan, king of beasts and monarch of fangs.
-
Querehsha, Queen of Insects and Monarch of Pestilence
All three monarchs are powerful and will take on Sung Jinwoo as a team. As was the case with the other battles highlighted in Solo Leveling: Arise, this battle will receive a fully animated PV with the game models, with Jinwoo vs Thomas Andre, released in full on May 12, 2026, being the latest example.

8 new characters that will surpass Jinwoo in Solo Leveling Season 3
Solo Leveling Season 3 will showcase characters that far surpass even Sung Jinwoo in total power.
Solo Leveling's Monarchs stand as Sung Jinwoo's toughest enemies
Jinwoo has fought his fair share of overpowered enemies in history thus far. His first real battle after he unlocked the system was against Igris. He then battled Baran and also confronted the Ant King during the Jeju Island Raid. For the anime, that's as far as it goes, but the Manhwa has even harder battles for him.
Jinwoo vs. Expected to be adapted in Solo Leveling Season 3, The Architect is a tough fight for him, but his toughest challenge next is definitely against the Monarchs. Their numbers alone definitely give them a huge advantage, to the point that while Jinwoo manages to kill Querehsha, the other two take his life. Had Jinwoo not been saved by his father, Sung II-Hwan, this would have been the end for him. This battle also sees some major power-ups unfold, and sees Jinwoo awaken to his true power and finally overcome Monarchs. Aside from the Monarchs, the only tougher enemy will be Antares, the final antagonist of the entire series. He too will eventually get a short animation in Solo leveling: Arise.

Jinwoo Vs Monarch may take years to be fully animated in the TV series
To see Jinwoo Vs the Monarchs in Solo Leveling: Arise is exciting, but fans are more curious about this battle being adapted into the TV anime. At the moment, Solo Leveling Season 3 is not around, so this fight is not coming soon. Solo Leveling Season 3, when released, should cover up to at least the Double Dungeon arc. So it's likely that this fight will be adapted in season 4, which means it will take somewhere between 3 and 5 years for it to be animated.
Thankfully, A-1 Pictures producer Atsushi Kaneko's latest update turned out to be positive, as he officially confirmed that Solo Leveling's new anime project is in the works right now and that more information will be revealed soon enough.
