PlayStation 5 gamers can mark their calendars for the seven big games coming to the console in May 2026. Four months into 2026, and there have already been several big PS5 games that are must-haves for owners of Sony's latest console. And there's even more for PS5 players to look forward to in the very near future.
Before I get into the new PS5 games coming out in May 2026, it's worth pointing out that there's a huge PS5 exclusive coming out before the month is out. Housemarque's action-packed third-person shooter/roguelike game Saros arrives on April 30th, and while it's still days away from release as of this writing, we already know it's going to be a blast. Saros reviews have been glowing, making the game one of the highest-rated new releases of 2026 so far.

PS5 players can look forward to playing Saros before April is out, and they can also mark their calendars for the big new games releasing in May. Mixtape will hit the scene on May 7, and looks like something that should appeal to fans of games like Life is strange. Since May 12, there is a double header on Call of the Elder Godsa puzzle/adventure game and the sequel to the relatively well received Call of the Seaand Directive 8020a sci-fi horror game that effectively serves as the next installment in the long run Dark images horror anthology game series.
A week later on May 19, PS5 players can look forward to a native release of Darksiders: Warmastered Edition. Darksiders: Warmastered Edition is a remastered version of the classic God of war meets Zelda action-adventure game, and should make for a fun return visit on the PS5. Then, on May 22, PS5 players can check out the return of Bubsy, with the controversial platform mascot set to star in Bubsy 4D.
While there are notable new PS5 game releases coming throughout May 2026, it can be argued that the heaviest hits will fall at the end of the month. First there is LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight on May 22, marking the first major LEGO game in years and the first LEGO Batman game since 2018. Secondly, there is 007 First light on May 27 with Hitman developer IO Interactive shares its take on James Bond. There have been some legendary James Bond games released in the past, so it will be exciting to see again 007 First light can live up to the high bar set by its predecessors.

As for future PlayStation games, we know that Insomniac's Wolverine game launches on September 15th, and that Naughty Dog has a brand new game in the works in the form of its sci-fi action-adventure game Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophetalthough that will likely come in 2027. Rumor has it that a new PlayStation State of Play event could happen sometime in the relatively near future, so PS5 players should soon have a much clearer idea of what 2026 will mean for the PS5 overall.
