Pokemon TCG matches are fun and many players participate in them all over the world. But official tournament matches for Pokemon TCG May be a completely different question. These tournaments can include many matches that extend over hours of the day and have very strict rules, such as demanding that dice used to be sex -sided with rounded corners. During the second and last day of Pokemon Pittsburgh Regional Championships, one of the last two competitors stopped to release because he had an incorrect number of cards in his Pokemon TCG deck. Competitors Abaan Ahmed and Liam Halliburton went face to face in the big final, but the problems started when the judges paused the match to make a tire story. They then discovered that instead of the mandatory 60 cards, Ahmed had only 59 in his tire.
It seems that the problem began during Ahmed's previous match, where he played against Calvin Connor. After winning the match, Ahmed took the headset and in his excitement hit his Munkidori card on Connor's side. The two competitors had used the same tire, so when Connor cleaned up, he picked it up and thought it was one of his own cards. It seems that Ahmed then continued to use the same tire without checking it in the grand finale. The tournament rules require players to use exactly 60 cards in their tire. Instead of protesting, Ahmed lost the match, with the regional title to its competitor Halliburton.
Thankfully, not all bad news. Although Ahmed failed to secure the victory at Pittsburg Regional, his previous winnings have already secured him a place in the coming Pokemon TCG World Cup, which will be held in August 2026, in San Francisco, California. Chances are that Ahmed will be more careful with the cards in his tires in the future. If nothing else happened at least this moment before he participated in the World Cup, where it would only have been devastating to get so far just losing because of an unintentional technique.
