PlayStation's latest State Of Play seems to have gone pretty well. Not the most groundbreaking show it's ever put on, but kicking it off with the Astro Bot DLC and ending with a first look at Ghost Of Yotei were very smart decisions. There were some other exciting announcements in between as well, including the reveal of PlayStation's Chroma Collection which introduces three new options for DualSense and console boxes.
The three new color options for the PS5 accessories introduced via the Chroma Collection are Teal, Pearl and Indigo, and pre-orders for the controllers are now open. Each of the shiny new DualSense controllers are now listed on PlayStation Direct and Amazon – and will likely be available through other retailers soon – for $79.99 each. The going rate for most DualSense designs after the PlayStation quietly raised the price of its current generation controllers by $5.
While all three controller colors in the Chroma Collection are now available for pre-order, only two of them will be in your hands soon. The Pearl and Indigo controls will be released on November 7, 2024however The Teal DualSense will not ship until January 23, 2025. A similar situation to 2023's Deep Earth Collection, the blue and red options were available before the holidays, while the Sterling Silver controller wasn't released until the following year.
Pre-orders for PS5's Chroma Collection are now open
Look, so shiny!
The same goes for the matching Chroma Collection covers. All three options are available now, and all cost $64.99 each. But if you want to give your PS5 a teal makeover, you'll have to wait until January 23, 2025. If you want your PS5 to be an iridescent shade of indigo or pearl, good news, you can pre-order now and have your new covers with you by the latest on November 7.
Also coming to the PlayStation Direct this morning is the limited edition Fortnite PS5 DualSense which was also first showcased during State Of Play in September. Only the fifth game to get its own official PS5 controller, assuming I haven't forgotten anyone, the Fortnite DualSense is slightly more expensive than the Chroma Collection options at $84.99, the same price as the Concord design. There's no word yet on whether it will ever be restocked, but PlayStation still has Concord merchandise available.
