Other Konami franchise Bloober Team should tackle after Silent Hill 2

The 2001s Silent Hill 2 is one of the most beloved horror games of all time, and the task of remaking it was practically Herculean. While developer Bloober Team had delivered some solid horror experiences with Layers of fear and The mediumit had never tackled a project on the scale of Silent Hill 2 Remake earlier, and the pressure on the team must have felt insurmountable at times.

But against all odds, the Bloober Team delivered the goods, with the recently released Silent Hill 2 Remake receiving positive reviews from fans and critics alike. Bloober Team has proven that it is more than capable of producing excellent AAA remakes of beloved franchises, and having stated in a recent interview that “this is not the end of [Bloober’s] adventure with Konami,” it seems Konami may have more projects it wants Bloober to tackle in the near future.

Silent Hill 2's remake, The Last of Us shows how a little glass can go a long way

Silent Hill 2's remake shares gameplay DNA with The Last of Us, especially with a feature that creates much more exploration opportunities.

Bloober Team could continue to remake Silent Hill

With the Bloober Team that exceeds expectations with Silent Hill 2 Remakewould it make sense for Konami to approach the developer again for another Silent Hill remake. A remake of Silent Hill 3 would probably be the most obvious choice, with the original being released just two years after its predecessor and the two often being bundled together in previously released compilations. Silent Hill 4: The Room would be an equally good choice for a Bloober Team remake, as it's a beloved entry that could certainly use some touch-ups in the combat department.

With Silent Hill 2 now under their belt, the Bloober Team is equipped to handle pretty much anything Silent Hill franchise has in store, with most of the games following a similar gameplay formula and adopting a similar visual aesthetic.

Metal Gear Solid is one of the most popular game franchises out there, but few fans have actually completed the original set of Metal Gear titles that started it all back in the 1980s. The 1987s Metal Gear sees players control Solid Snake as he attempts to locate and destroy the first titular bipedal, nuclear-firing tank. Metal Gear is widely considered one of the earliest successes in the stealth genre, and it would be great to see such an influential title get the full remake treatment.

Although Bloober Team is primarily a horror-focused studio, there are some light stealth mechanics in there Silent Hill 2 Remake. With a little care and attention, these stealth mechanics can pave the way for one Metal Gear remake from Bloober, which could serve as a nice companion to Konami's upcoming Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater remake.

A Bloober Team Castlevania remake or reboot could work

While Castlevania has appeared in Dead in daylight, Dead cellsand lastly, Vampire Survivorthe franchise itself hasn't seen a new entry in a decade. At this point, Castlevania probably needs a complete reboot, and Bloober Team might be able to take the series in a bold new direction. A Bloober Team led Castlevania reboot could focus more on the series' gothic, supernatural horror, keeping the project in Bloober's wheelhouse while delivering a new kind of Castlevania experience.
