With the introduction of Saint Nerona Imu in the land of Elbaph, the final battles of this incredibly chaotic arc have finally begun. Starting chapter 1180 of One PieceEiichiro Oda has finally kicked off the biggest fight One Piece has had since Luffy vs. Kaido, which happened four years ago, as the King of the World gets an opportunity to display his full power against an equally terrifying opponent – the Cursed Prince of Elbaph and the current wielder of Nidhogg power, Loki. This fight is shaping up to be one for the ages that will be remembered for years to come, and Eiichiro Oda is sure to tackle it in the latest chapters, starting with One Piece 1181.

How Luffy vs Kaido set the standard for the big battles in the final saga
One Piece doesn't always get the biggest fights, but Eiichiro Oda delivered a phenomenal fight at the end of the Wano Country Arc with Luffy vs Kaido. This is the incredible battle where Luffy awakened the power of Gear 5, as well as learned how to infuse Conqueror's Haki into his attacks. This battle ended with a very exciting ending where Luffy used the overwhelming power of his Devil Fruit ability to crush the Yonko, ushering in a new era in the land of Wano.
Luffy vs Kaido was easily one of the best matches in the entire manga, especially considering the stakes of this fight. Now Eiichiro Oda is doing something similar in One Piece. Elbaph Arc's chapter 1180 officially marked the beginning of Loki vs Imu fight, which will see the final antagonist of the entire series in real action for the very first time.
Why the clash between the Cursed Prince and the King of the World will exceed all expectations
One Piece's new fight, which will begin in the last chapter, will exceed all expectations for a couple of reasons. The biggest reason is that Eiichiro Oda has finally shown Nerona Imu, the ruler of the entire world, in this part of the story. This means he must do justice to this final villain to raise the tension of the story heading into the final war. If Eiichiro Oda doesn't give Imu a proper showing, fans will clearly lose interest in this particular character moving forward and not feel any significant threat from him, which will undoubtedly ruin the plot's progression.

Likewise, after building up the Cursed Prince of Elbaph for a long time, Eiichiro Oda also needs to do justice to this character and show fans why Loki is as important as he is in the Elbaph arc and the final war to come. All things considered, this battle between Nerona Imu and Loki that started in chapter 1180 will be unprecedented and will set a new standard for fights in One Piece.

Scale the power of Elbaph's Prince Loki to Nerona Imu
Both Imu and Loki are very powerful in their own right, but their strength is really not equal. Although Loki is the Cursed Prince and has the power to destroy the world, he is not the strongest in the One Piece series, as evidenced by the fact that he lost a fight to Shanks six years ago in the New World.
If red-haired Shanks was strong enough to defeat Loki, Nerona Imu, the King of the World, who is even stronger than Shanks, should also be able to handle him. The only problem for Imu is that he has a strict time limit, which was confirmed again by Oda in chapter 1180 of the manga. Regardless, in terms of strict power scaling, Nerona Imu far outclasses Loki.

Assessing the potential victor from Elbaph's disastrous clash
The incredible Battle of Elbaph Arc, which will span a couple of chapters after Chapter 1180, is likely to end in victory for Nerona Imu for two main reasons. The first reason is simply that Imu is the stronger of the two, thanks to her Akuma no Mi, and needs more characterization.
But more importantly, Luffy hasn't joined the battle yet. In order for him to do that, Loki has to be dealt with in one way or another. Loki's downfall is, unfortunately, all but guaranteed at this point, and the coming chapters of the story will surely highlight that, paving the way for the sun god Nika to make his entrance.
