On November 25, a new Nintendo Switch Online update was added Donkey Kong Land 2 to a growing list of Game Boy titles that subscribers can play. Almost a week after Donkey Kong Land appeared on the Game Boy app, Nintendo Switch Online subscribers can now play the sequel. Nintendo confirmed the news on social media by releasing a 44-second trailer of Donkey Kong Land 2s gameplay and showed what Diddy and Dixie can do to get through each level. While Diddy can drive carts and run fast, Dixie can use her ponytail to slide and grab various objects. Donkey Kong Land 2 players can use the Game Boy, Game Boy Pocket and Game Boy Color filters during gameplay. To play Donkey Kong Land 2 on the Game Boy app, Nintendo Switch Online subscribers must connect to the internet and the app should update automatically.
