My Hero Academia final season teaser revealed

A new teaser released on the TOHO Animation YouTube channel last Saturday, following the final episode of Season 7, revealed that the 8th and final season of My Hero Academia will air sometime in 2025. The teaser comes out after an official statement confirmed the series' eighth season, as well as the staff who will be working on its production.




A brand new key image was also revealed, depicting series protagonist Izuku “Deku” Midoriya in a battered state with his costume in tatters after engaging in the climactic battle against Tomura Shigaraki. The upcoming 8th season will complete the adaptation of the final arc of Kōhei Horikoshi's manga, which ended in August after a 10-year serialization. The short teaser can be seen below.

Along with the 2025 air date, the teaser also revealed some of the staff behind the production of the final season of My Hero Academiaincluding Kenji Nagasaki, who has been the director of the series since season 1 and served as executive director from season 4 onwards; director Naomi Nakayama; with series composition by Yōsuke Kuroda; character designs by Yoshihiko Umakoshi and Hitomi Odashima; music composition by Yuki Hayashi and of course animation production by Studio Bones.

The cast includes Daiki Yamashita as Deku, Kenta Miyake as All Might, Kōki Uchiyama as Tomura Shigaraki, Akio Otsuka & Hiroshi Kamiya as All For One, Ayane Sakura as Ochaco Uraraka, Kaito Ishikawa as Tenya Iida and Yuki Kaji as Todoroki Shōto. At the time of writing, no exact premiere date has been revealed. The planned broadcast in 2025 of the final season of My Hero Academia meaning that the anime will end within a year of the end of the manga.

Kōhei Horikoshi's My Hero Academia was serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine from July 2014 to August 2024, in 41 volumes. It has sold over 100 million copies, making it one of the best-selling manga of all time, and is one of the leading titles that has defined the generation of manga, carrying the mantle of Shōnen Jump's legendary Big Three.


The anime, produced by Studio Bones, began airing in April 2016, with a new season of the series being released every year since then. The franchise has spawned a number of films, the most recent of which, titled My Hero Academia: You're Next, hit Japanese theaters in August and is currently in international distribution. The upcoming 8th and final season of My Hero Academia will air in 2025, ending the climactic battle between the practitioners of All For One and One For All.
